Chevrolet Chevelle 1969 Description
1969 Chevrolet Chevy Chevelle MALIBU CONVERTIBLE. Rare! Engine is a 250 STRAIGHT-6. Car runs but may have exhaust leak. Automatic Powerglide transmission. Same owner since 1987. No accidents. There are 84. 54 miles on the small block engine since it was rebuilt in 1993. There are some areas of rust (see picture) but the body is straight with a solid frame and undercarriage and solid floors and trunk. Original vinyl bench seats are in good condition underneath aftermarket velour covers. I have not seen them since 1987 and only remember a small tear or two. Black convertible top needs Armor All but has glass rear window and excellent working motor. Car has dings and needs paint and has some peeling and pitting on bumpers. Tiny piece in grill is missing (see pic). The car needs mainly cosmetic work. especially the interior dash and dash pad (see pictures). The rug will need to be replaced. Steering wheel has cracks. Glove box door will not stay closed and needs new lock cylinder. The pictures are part of this ad. so please analyze them closely. Receipts go back to 1987 for most maintenance work including: 1993: rebuild engine $1. 651996: replace wiring harness $3831996: new top $5502000: water pump. tune-up. shocks. front end (ball joints. etc. ). brakes $3402004: motor mounts. wheel cylinders. bearings. etc. $760 Pictures show that the frame. undercarriage and trunk have only SURFACE RUST - no rot or holes. This is a straight. solid car. Photos show that both armrests are damaged and the door panels are starting to curl at the very bottom. Door sills are in great shape. although the driver side windows sometimes slip off the tracks. Engine compartment is as you see it. but included is hood insulation (still in wrapper) ready to be used. I also took a close-up of the rust spots. which are mainly on the doors. The car has been garage kept for the past fifteen years. It starts right up. runs rough for about five minutes. then has a tapping sound (not a valve tap) and possible exhaust leak. A small box with extra parts is included (gauges. boot. etc. ) with no guarantee of their usefulness. I have represented this car as honestly as I can. You WILL need to do work on this car (and spend more money) to get it looking and running more like the classic that it is. You are buying the car from the current owner and the title is clear. I bought this car in 1987 in PA and it has been gently driven and cared for. It has been garage-kept since 2001. The car is sold AS IS. There is NO Guarantee or Warranty available for this car. The buyer is responsible for vehicle pick-up or shipping and any fees associated with that process. All funds must clear before car leaves my possession or property. A $1. 00 deposit is required 48 hours after the close of the auction. and FULL PAYMENT is required in THREE days. Body was “restored” in 1994 – receipt is detailed below: Replace rusted floor panels and left middle floor braceRepair two rusted wheel wellsRepair two rusted quarter panelsRepair rusted left side doorReplace two fendersSand entire car and door jambs down to base metalRepair dentsRepair rusted trunk jamb and roof edge along trunkPaint car. door jambs. and under hood and trunkReplace trunk and door weather strippingPaint on pin stripes and rocker panels (black)Carpet sound proofing. padding. and carpet Body work cost $5. 00 and was done with all metal in 1994.
