Chevrolet El Camino 1985 Description

I’ll do my best….

I’m not a body man but I’m old and have been a car dealer all my life so I will do my best to describe this 1985 El Camino Conquista that I took on consignment from someone much older than me, 83 years old as a matter of fact and he had an accident a couple years ago and has had the car in his garage ever since. He had no more use for it now I have it. Mechanically I can tell you the motor purrs and the trans shifts perfectly and there are no oil or radiator leaks in the car. The damage is of course the hood, the radiator support, the ac condenser and the radiator holds coolant and the car doesn’t overheat, the oil is clean, the front bumper is perfect and there are no signs of any undercarriage damage at all beside what you can see in these pictures so no frame damage and even the bumper supports are solid. Naturally the hood won’t stay closed and if you buy the car please be prepared to tow it home even though it runs fine. The car sits on four nice whitewall tires and has the factory original wire hubcaps. The body with the exception of the visible damage is outstanding with no dents and not a dimes worth of rust anywhere on it or under it, the sides are straight as a dye, front fenders are untouched and all the chrome is nice and not pitted. The bed is flat and perfect and the paint is in excellent shape. The interior is in fantastic condition and totally original including the velour upholstery, the original factory carpets that have been covered since new, a tight and clean headliner, one crack on the top of the dash which was common on this year Chevy and no signs of the car ever having been smoked in. If you were looking for a toy to play with and don’t mind spending a couple of dollars on some easy body work, here is a chance to make a small investment and play with it while it appreciates more in value as time goes on and this one will be sold with no reserve so thanks for looking and good luck with the auction.

Within walking distance of our car lot, there is a DMV agent that will issue Pennsylvania license plates and out of state temporary 30 day plates. They will accommodate all our customers within their normal business hours which are 9-5PM on weekdays and on Saturdays from 9-12PM. You can of course bring your own temp tags if you prefer. It is mandatory that if you need plates you bring with you your drivers license and your insurance card for your present car. Names, addresses and dates must be valid on both items.

Wholesale to the Public

We are wholesalers in the automobile business since 1949 and the mainstay of our business is to supply other dealers with vehicles that we have either traded or purchased in a wholesale capacity “as-is” with no warranties either expressed or implied. This is a unique way of selling automobiles and if you are receptive to these conditions you will take advantage of the lower prices. We test drive our cars prior to offering them for sale on this auction and any faults are disclosed to the best of our ability. We do not run them through a service facility but rely on our experience to tell you what problems they may have. We will not under any conditions guarantee the check engine lights or any dash warning lights as if they are on we will disclose this and we do not do a diagnosis to see what it is because they can come on at any time for any number of reasons so these lights are not guaranteed if they come on for you.

Administrative Fee

We have sold over 5000 cars on eBay in the last six years and have never charged any fees. However, the cost of doing business recently has skyrocketed out of sight and we are forced at this time to ask for a nominal $75 fee on top of the price of the car sold and any motor vehicle fees. I truly apologize for this change in policy however the cost of doing business and the increasing number of no show bidders dictates this moderate administrative fee.

“Prior to re-conditioning”

Our prices are generally way below the average retail values listed in the most popular pricing guides so our cars are not detailed or re-conditioned but sold in the same way they were purchased or traded. They are simply washed and put out for sale. You will not find the motors cleaned and you won’t find shiny protectorates such as “Armor-All” on them and the cars will be in their original traded condition. This allows you to buy the car for less money and me to do less work. If you are receptive to buying a car in this fashion, the savings are yours. Because we sell our cars all over the world and in every state, inspections are not guaranteed in any state as each state differs in their requirements so it is virtually impossible for us to guarantee inspection. Options such as power windows, cruise control, air conditioning etc. are not guaranteed however we will do our best to mention any items that are not working.

Payment

If you are a winning bidder, kindly contact me via email immediately at the end of the auction for verification. Our requirements are that the high bidder should pay an immediate deposit of $500 via PayPal upon completion of the auction and the car should be paid in full within 7 days via cashiers check, cash if in person or money order. The deposit can also be made over the phone via MasterCard or Visa; however, payment in full cannot be made with a credit card or PayPal. If payment of the car is not fulfilled within the specified time, the car will be offered for re-sale and feedback will be left accordingly. Let’s not waste each other’s time.

The seller shall not be responsible for the correct description, authenticity, genuineness or defects herein and makes no warranty in connection therewith. No allowance or set aside will be made on account of any incorrectness, imperfection, defect or damage.
