Chevrolet Camaro 1971 Description

Hello!

Do not miss this opportunity to buy the ultimate gen 2 Camaro starting point.

This Van Nuys California built Camaro spent its life in the desert of Arizona.

It started life Cottonwood green code 42 with Black with Green custom interior code 787.

Sometime in the 70's it was converted to Brown with the entire interior being painted tan with some 70's psychedelic cloth seat inserts. It roamed the streets this way until my friend bought it and shortly after had the cam go flat in the engine.

The car was parked in AZ where the sun went to work on the interior for 10 years. As you can imagine it destroyed all the plastic with 140 degree + interior temps. The seats came through unscathed and the frames and tracks are in GREAT shape.

The car was finally transported east to the Charlotte area where the dash and most of the interior were removed (I have a lot of dash parts but the car will need a full interior). It was put in dry storage in 1997 and had not seen the light of day until I purchased it in 2017.

I had big plans but my Dr. tells me other wise.

Here is what I can tell you,

The body on this car is amazing, we all know what rust repair and quarter panels cost. This car has a 3x3 are behind the passenger rear tire that will need a patch ( pictured), It will need door hinges, the rear valance below the bumper in the center will need some attention as you can see in the pictures, and the lower valance on the front will need straightening where someone decided it would be a good idea to drag it up on a trailer hooked too high.

That's it! Sand it and paint it!

The frame rails, floor pans, trunk pan, fenders, etc are immaculate. The Pass front fender is black on the bottom which I would guess means it has been replaced with a GM fender in the 70's.The front sub frame I pressure washed and it cleans to bare metal and light surface rust. Its amazingly clean!!!

When I washed it up I noticed the rear window seal leaked and there is some surface rust up by the deck (pictured)but none in the track of the rear window. Also there was a mouse living in it when I picked it up so where his nest was on the pass rear of the trunk is some light pitting (pictured)but no where near any holes.

I have tons of pics and I have it positioned on my lift so I can document anything you ask. Please ask.

I DO NOT want to misrepresent this car and waste anyone's time.

Please ask any questions just PLEASE don't waste my time beating me up on price. I don't have to sell it but I know I will never be able to finish my dream car so its available for some who wants to build a fully restored 71RSStreet car, LS swap Detroit Speed style car, NHRA stocker, NMCA racer, or a 70's high school street fighter!!

They are not making any more 71's and Rally Sports with a near mint nose are near impossible to find. Do not miss out!!!

Thank you for looking!!!
