Chevrolet Corvette 1965 Description
Power brakes, power steering, Vintage Air air conditioning, red line tires, side pipes, and knock off wheels. This1965 Corvette Stingray wasrestored from 2007-2012 with $100,000 spent excluding the $46,000 purchase price. I have a large folder with a lot of the receipts from the restoration and an itemized spreadsheet of the (numbers) spent on the car. I am listing the car for a close friend because I know more about the car and have been in possession of it since he purchased it at the Houston Mecum Auto Auction in 2013 for $90,000, plus $5400.00 in fees. We added Vintage Air AC, an electronic distributor and misc. odds and endsthat needed to be addressed. I have the originaldistributor along with the period correct chrome housing and era correct spark plug wires. The car runs and drives great with the ONLY thing I feel that could be added/addressed being electric cooling fans while using the AC in traffic. The engine is a non numbers matching 396 with ALL of the components matching the original specifications of a 396/425hp engine. This car was an original green on green Corvette. The car has new parts everywhere and is a solid driver. The white paint does have imperfections, with close examination it has what looks like tiny bubbles in the clear coat but it is unknown if its in the clear or in the (color) and what looks to be a (patch) on the left rear quarter panel above the wheel opening. From as little as 5' away the paint looks 100%. I am a believer in full disclosure and want to describe the car as accurately as possible. $90,000 was too much for this car and will be a huge money loser, the reserve is lowered to an accurate worth for this restored, beautiful, daily driver. To save from getting phone calls about why it is being sold, the owner of the car owns 6 modern cars and purchased this car because he was standing at the auction and prefers White on Red color combos, he had twopeople bidding against him and didn't understand that it was priced too high, just got caught up in the moment. He doesn't (have) to sell the carandunderstands the money loss but has no need for it.
