Chevrolet Corvette 1969 Description
1969 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray ConvertibleFitted with a host of factory options that included number’s matching 350ci V8 350hp engine, 4-speed transmission, power steering, power brakes, air conditioning, side exit exhaust pipes, luggage rack, and more! Beautiful factory color combination of Monza Red over black upholstery! Sweet buy!
Chevrolet elected to redesign the Corvette once again for the 1968 model year with a fresh look. Often referred to as the “mako shark†styling, the popular 1960’s Coke bottle shape was winning over audiences at the auto shows. This longer, shapelier style gave way to a new T-top coupe, additional engine choices, and several more options on the order form. First introduced without any badging, the former Sting Ray model designation returned in 1969 as Stingray instead. For collectors, the early 1968-1972 examples carried the traditional chrome bumpers that remain very desirable today, as well as powertrains providing ample horsepower & torque the Corvette was well known to provide!
Offered here is a very well equipped 1969 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Convertible finished in factory correct 974-Monza Red over ZQ4-standard black vinyl interior. Under the hood lies its original L46 350ci V8 making a stout 350 horsepower and 380 ft. lbs. of torque, delivered to the ground through a 4-speed Muncie transmission and 3.36 Posi-traction rear axle ratio! Options include factory air conditioning, power disc brakes, power steering, side-mounted exhaust system, rear luggage rack, Delco AM/FM pushbutton radio, headrests, Soft-Ray Astro Ventilation glass, side fender vent trim, BF Goodrich Radial T/A white letter tires, and dual outside mirrors!
Built in November 1968, this all numbers matching example is truly one of the finest driving examples you will ever find on the market! Already fully repainted professionally with results are far superior to the original factory finish, along with fresh interior upholstery & carpet and all new weather stripping. A completely new braking system that includes booster, master cylinder, rebuild calipers, rotors & pads, & new hoses; all new side exhaust, and new tires measuring 225/70R15. An all new suspension with KYB shocks that included a totally new front end with new steering rack, control arm bushings, upper & lower ball joints, sway bar bushing, end links, and more! A new gas tank, sending unit, fuel pump, and filter ensure clean delivery of fuel to the rebuilt engine and transmission. New vacuum actuators and hoses provide easy operation of the headlights and wipers, along with a fully serviced air conditioning system that continues to blow cold!
A true blue chip Corvette investment available for the astute collector who is looking for an example with all the right attributes. A tight rattle free body, rust free chassis, ability to drop the roof on summer days, shift through the gears of a manual transmission, and turn on the air conditioning when things get to hot! Fully sorted, unmodified, and original to factory standards throughout, it really hits the road just right! With the recent attention to the car both cosmetically and mechanically, it makes it the perfect investment worthy vehicle ready to show and drive immediately!
