Chevrolet Corvette 1969 Description
1969 Corvette Convertible (Original Survivor) 350-300 Horse Automatic 101,000 Miles. The Corvette is in Hicksville, New York.Vin #194679S719866 It shows it was built in March of 1969 (Trim Tag H24) and was the #19865 built out of a run of 38762 Corvettes of which 16633 were convertibles.
This is an amazing find...a real 1969 almost original Corvette Convertible. It still has the original motor it was born with, not a re-stamp, original paint, redone interior, and almost all major components are what came on the car.
It is an original Daytona Yellow Corvette (Paint Code 984) with it's original paint which does have a few flaws as you can see in the picture. It has a nice black convertible top as well as a great black vinyl hardtop. The correct black interior (Trim Tag ZQ4) has been freshened with newer black vinyl components. It even has the original AM/FM radio still in the car. Other options include the Louver Trim Package and Power Steering.
If you look close at the motor you will see it is a 350 cubic inch rated at 300 Horse, with a Quadrajet carb backed by a Turbo 400 Transmission. According to the original motor stamping it was built on March 11 1969 about half way thru the production run. It has the correct factory cast iron exhausts, valve covers, chrome air cleaner, gas filter and lines, ignition shielding (not shown in picture), distributor, as well as many original hoses and hose clamps. Other than routine maintenance, we do not believe this engine has ever had any other thing done to it. It looks to be in original, un-restored and untouched as you will ever find.
It even has the original Rally Wheels with a set of Goodyear Polyglas F70-15 Tires on them!
The exhaust looks good and the mufflers and tailpipes are correct also.
The chrome on the car looks good for it's age as does the whole Corvette. You must see this car. It is a well maintained and cared for Corvette. It is rare that you find such an unmolested Corvette as this anywhere or any year as they are becoming harder and harder to find.
If you have any questions or concerns please come see the car or call before you bid on it. The Corvette is in Hicksville, New York. Phone number is 917-406-5550 Chris.
The 1969 Corvette had a lot of improvements over the previous ones. The Stingray name (now spelled as one word) appears on the front fenders above four vertical fender vents. The backup lights were integrated into the center tail lights. The fenders are unflared and the front cornering lamps are round. The steering-wheel diameter was trimmed an inch for more under-rim thigh clearance. Interior door handles and control knobs were redesigned. A warning light was added to warn that the headlights hadn't completely opened. The ignition is now on the steering column and the door depression button used in 1968 was eliminated. A key lock was put in it's place. The interior has glove box mounted map pockets but no wood on the door panels. Front and rear disc brakes, headlight washers, center console, wheel trim rings, carpeting and all vinyl upholstery are standard; the windshield-washer jets were moved to the wiper arms. The frame was stiffened and standard rim width went up to eight inches.
