This truck was found in a barn in St louis this spring... See Photos of the way it was found... It was someones Hot Rod in the 80s... Had a 69 Camaro 6 clyinder and turbo 350 with a 10 bolt...
Now the truck has a 2001 5.3 ls motor that had 105k on it. 4L60E same year and miles. It still has the 8.2 10 bolt rearend with 3.42 open diff..
Motor and trans are all stock... No leaks or wet areas. Very nice drive train.. Only performance thinks are the stainless headers, Flowmaster dual exhaust and open air filter.. This truck will cruise down the road at 80mph and get 22mpg.. There is a Aluminum 20 Gallon fuel cell in the rear with a MSD fuel pump.. It drives like a newer car. My 16 year old daughter drives this...
The Chassis now has a Jim Weimer Rod Garage Mustang II front end with power rack and 11in disk brakes and adjustable Viking coilovers.. The rear end is held in with a tri-bar 4 link and also adjustable Viking Coilovers.. All new power master cylinder under the floor... All new Rocket wheels with new Cooper tires all around.. There is all new wiring in the truck from front to back.. Plus A PSI wiring harness for the motor and trans.. All lights and blinkers work as they should. Has Harley Davidson Halogen headlights
When truck was being build we didnt want to change the patina or disturb. There is rust holes at bottom of fenders and other bumps and bruises.. No major holes or damage.. All doors and tailgate and hood open and close great.. Somewhere in this truck live someone but a GMC tailgate on it... There is no major body changes.. Floor in the box is still at stock height .. This isn't a cheap S10 frame swap.. Where you have to cut the bed floor, cab mounts, running board mounts and make the stuff work...
The inside has a stock bench seat that has a cover on it. Has a IDIDIT tilt colum installed. Lokar shifer. ECM is under seat. All Harley Davidson Gauges.. Fuel Gauge not hooked but.. Need a different sender in fuel cell.. There is no radio. Wipers are stock and all there just never hooked up.. The heater and defrost works.. There is a dome light.. I have Carpet just never installed. Will send with or install if needed. It was ez to clean the metal floor over carpet. It was being use as a shop truck. All glass is there but the drivers glass is cracked.. Left for the old look.. All windows go up and down and air vent opens fine. There is over 1000 miles on the truck now with no problems. Runs and drives better than a 2001 half ton pickup. I would drive this truck across country it is a joy to drive. If truck doesn't sell it will be on the Power Tour next spring. Fly into Milwaukee and drive it home. Reserve is set very low on this truck. So bid to win. This truck will have a new owner by next week.
