Chevrolet Blazer 1981 Description
The Blazer has two previous owners. The first owner of 31 years was a retired engineering-company owner in Reno, NV, who kept it in a garage and used it infrequently for camping and to two a light-weight fishing boat. It's got the 350 V-8 and heavy-duty two hitch with 7-pin writing hookup, and electronic variable trailer brake control. The second owner was a mother who used it for driving her family around. They lived in Lake Tahoe. She drove it for four years. She also kept it well maintained and repaired the truck as needed. She replaced the transmission about a year ago, hoses, breaks, alternator - all all the records have been kept.I purchased the truck and had the electrical wiring updated and the truck was tuned up. It starts strong and drives very nicely. I also fixed the tailgate lock. The truck has been kept all original wth the exception of the tires. The interior is original. Even the radio. All the gauges work, speedometer is correct. It has the look and feel of a great vintage 4x4. It is not perfect. There is a crack in the dash, a rip in the drivers seat and carpet has a few stains. Exterior rust is in typical places. According to my body shop the rust is an easy fix. There is no rust on the undercarriage, which was an important purchasing fact for me. It's a strong runner and reliable starter.
The chrome is in good condition. There is also a chrome push bar and fog lights and the spot light works. From what I can tell the roof has never been taken off. The air-conditioning does not work but the heater is fine. The back tailgate window works fine from the inside switch. The truck is a head turner. People are often interested in it. It's a perfect candidate for restoration. The truck is ready to drive anywhere. It's being sold as is.
Overall, the truck has been very well maintained mechanically and ready for any 4WD situation.
