Chevrolet C-10 1971 Description
Looking to sell my 1971 Chevy CST-10 pickup. I got this truck when I was 15 and I have owned it for 5 years. I purchased it from an older man in Alabama. It is my daily driver and it has always been reliable. Everywhere I go people always complement the truck or wanna stop and talk to me, it is definitely a head turner. I am selling it because I am ready to start a new build. Now on to the specs.
Short wheel base (short-bed)
Clean Title in hand
Motor:
I replaced the 350 that was in it with a 355 Blueprint crate engine from summit racing. It runs wonderful and the cam sounds great!
The engine bay looks clean and simple, I tucked all the electrical wires, ran the plug wires so they could not be seen, and hid the majority of the vacuum lines
aroud 50k miles on the motor
I have always ran 93 octane, motor spec sheet requires atleast 91
385 horsepower/400 lb. torque
4 bolt main
1 piece rear seal
9.5:1 compression
Keith Black pistons
Hastings Moly rings
Double roller timing set
Hydraulic lifter cam: Flat tappet, .480 Intake .486 Exhaust
Built 202 valve Vortec heads
all pulleys are billet aluminum
custom made alternator brackets that cant be bought
holley 650 carb with electric choke bought new when motor was bought
msd distrubitor
8mm plug wires
4 puck steel fan blade
starter is a month old
alternater is a week old
Hooker Headers
3 row full aluminum radiator
Optima Red Top Battery
very slight leak from oil filter the past few times I changes it but I do not ever see it on the ground where I park, could just be the filter
you can look up this motor online for more details
Transmission is a turbo 350 which is a three speed automatic
The tranny was rebuilt two weeks ago so it is fresh and shifts wonderful
all new gaskets and seals
shift kit
race sprag
heavy duty rebuild kit
no leaks
Rear end:
stock 12 bolt rear end with a set of 4:11 gears and a posi
I have had no problems with this setup other
Exhaust:
about two foot of 3 inch pipe running out of a set of ceramic coated headers into dual Flowmaster 10's and turn-downs under the cab.
Electrical:
I rewired the truck about two years ago using a kit from American Autowire that it similar to the Painless wiring kit. It includes wiring for auto locks and windows and other accessories but I did not use any of that. It has the updated fuses you would find in a new truck instead of the old glass fuses.
all wiring in engine bay tucked in fender and wrapped
Radio:
aftermarket Kenwood head unit
two 6x9 speakers in separate boxes.
wired for an amp and sub but do not currently have either hooked up
Lighting:
headlights are aftermaket clear euro headlights from Summit with (not cheap ebay lights) with a set of HIDs
all marker lights have been replaced with LED marker lights
tail lights and front turn signals are LED
LED lights in the gauge cluster and cargo light also
Interior:
bench set
black carpet was replaced right before I purchased the truck
aftermarket grant steering wheel
the speedometer is not accurate and I have a temperature gauge mounted below the dash
Paint, Frame, and Body
Solid frame with minimal surface rust
Body is also solid with no rust
repainted the factory color 4 years ago which is Huggar Orange
no money spared with paint, multiple coats of primer, base, and clear
I would say the paint is 8/10, it is not flawless but looks wonderful and the body is straight
above the bed on the passenger side cab the paint has cracked
small bubbles on bottom of doors
all trim was replaced when truck was repainted
the inner grill and tailgate were also replaced
wheel wells are painted Huggar Orange to match
the inside of the bed was not painted when truck was repainted so does show signs of wear
Suspension, Steering and Brakes:
the truck still has factory drum brakes, I have never had a problem with them but if you have never driven an older vehicle it is different from the braking system on a new truck or car
front and rear are coil springs
I purchased a 2-4 lowering kit from Classic Performance Parts which consisted of new springs and gas-charged mono-tube shocks. The truck handled ten times better after this change was made. The steering is good for a forty-five year old truck and there is not much play at all in the steering wheel.
Wheels and tires:
6 lug
I have always ran a eight inch rally tire on the truck and they performed well
the tire tread now is 50%
the wheels are original but the two rear wheels are missing center caps
I also have dark window tint on all windows and a dark brow across the windshield.
I have put a lot of time into this truck and can tell you anything you want to know about it. It still has the sticker in the dash listing factory upgrades. I'm sure I missed a few things but I am willing to answer any questions you have. I have done 99.9 % of the labor either myself or with the help of friends and family. I have most of the paperwork from when purchases were made. Most parts were purchased from Summit Racing. I would drive this truck across the country in a heartbeat. All trade offers with or without cash are welcome. You can reach me at 404-966-2649 text or call. Thanks.
