Chevrolet C-10 1971 Description
1971 Chevy C10 Custom Deluxe LWB: The most popular Chevrolet trucks with collectors are those built between 1967 and 1972. Several factors explain the collector popularity of these trucks. First, they're just damn good looking! To many, the lines of Chevy pickups in this styling series, particularly the 1969-1972 models, are a "classic" expression of what a pickup truck should look like. Second, with this series Chevrolet offered truly carlike interiors, complete with color-coordinated carpeting on the floor. Third, all power accessories once found only on cars were now available on light trucks. A pickup from this "Integrated Styling" series could be equipped with air conditioning, power steering, power brakes, AM/FM radio - virtually any accessory you could find on a car. Forth, and perhaps best of all, with Chevrolet's all-coil spring suspension, pickups of this series offered a ride as smooth as that of a Chevy Bel Air sedan. Fifth, as an added bonus, Chevrolet equipped its light trucks with a range of engines and transmission options that was nearly as wide as could be found in any of the company's car lines. Buyers could fit their truck out for miserly fuel economy with a faithful six and three-speed transmission, or as an interstate cruiser with a high-powered V-8 and automatic transmission. This beautiful Chevy C10 is as collectible as they come! We specialize in classic Chevy's from this era and always jump on opportunities to purchase good ones. The story for this C10 starts with an original sale and a long life in Phoenix, AZ. It then spent a brief time in a MA restoration shop where it was restored at the 49k mile mark in 1998. It was then owned by 2 different gentleman in WA. Over their ownership the truck only accumulated another 7k miles, was always garaged, and never saw a wet road. The most recent owner (2015-2016) recently spent $1,100 on an upgraded dual exhaust, $1,400 on a thorough tune-up, and over $600 on Hotchkis™ Sport sway bars. Here's where the story gets good ... Upon locating this C10, I took a one-way flight to Seattle, purchased the truck and drove it 2,600 miles back to Houston, TX via the Pacific Coast Highway. The truck started immediately on every try, handled great for hours on the freeway at 70mph, everything worked like it should, and got dozens "thumbs-ups" along the way! Some photos from the trip are on the bottom of this ad. The recent service work and sway bar additions were very noticeable on the windy PCH in California and made for some great driving. If you are thinking that a short life in MA or WA would give this truck rust issues, you would be dead wrong. This truck has zero signs of rust and is very clean inside and out, top and bottom. The only "need" we have found is that the factory AM/FM radio turns on but no sound comes out the speaker.
In addition to obviously being very strong mechanically, this C10 has 59k documented miles from new. The documentation is extensive and includes; Complete title history, Original Temp Tag, Warranty Card / Protect-O-Plate, Owners Manual, Original Vehicle Inspection Report, and receipts for all recent service work. According to the SPID Tag in the glovebox, this Chevy retains its original colors and options. The exception is the addition of a tilt steering column and wheel from a mid-60s Corvette that is a great upgrade. The factory correct Hugger Orange & White paint scheme is a real head turner and the correct Parchment bench seat looks as good as new. Additional features and options not already mentioned include; Custom Deluxe Package, 350 V8, Automatic Transmission, Power Steering, Power Disc Brakes, Chrome Bumpers/Grill/Mirrors, Kargo King™ Bedmat, Dual Chrome Magnaflow™ Exhaust, Dual Fuel Tank Doors (no tanks), Soft Ray Tinted Glass, Curt™ Tow Package, Original Tire Tools, Spare Tire, 15" Wheels and thick Goodyear™ Wrangler Tires! It is well known that the more original and period correct a vehicle is, the better and faster it appreciates. Especially the examples that are as well documented as this C10. Hagerty, KBB, NADA, and CPI already value this truck currently between $32,200 and $43,500. Between these industry experts' facts and the photos below, you should wisely agree this is an exceptional classic Chevy that can be purchased for only $17,988!
