Chevrolet Impala 1959 Description
1959 Impala 2-Door Hardtop. 283 v8, edlebrock 600 4-barrel carb with electric choke, always starts right up, 700r4 automatic transmission with overdrive, has been converted to electronic ignition, motor has been rebuilt and runs good, transmission shifts good, power brakes, has been converted to disk in front, 2" front drop spindles, power steering, recent paint job, new rear floor pans, front floor pans are solid, trunk is solid, new rear quarter panel, new gas tank, new interior (seats, door panels, carpet), new window cranks, new door handles. And those iconic 1959 rear fins, they just don't make cars with this kind of style anymore. Clear Kentucky title in my name!Nice driver quality, cruising car. It is not a top quality show stopping restoration, more what I would call an amateur restoration that you can take out and enjoy without having to worry about. That being said, it has a few things that could still stand to be done. Some things that are not perfect are: speedometer does not work due to newer overdrive transmission (needs adapter, or just put in a gps speedo), some body panels could be aligned better, has a couple of small surface bubbles (nothing that would show up in pictures), some of the chrome has some pitting and dents, dash has surface rust and needs painted, heater core needs replaced, tires rub some at full turn, and the power steering has a shutter sometimes during low speed turns.
BUT, this is a very nice driver quality cruiser that you could take out, drive anywhere you want, be proud of, and get a whole lot of attention while doing it. These 59 Impalas are rare, and very rarely do you see one like this where all of the hard and expensive work has been done, leaving you with the opportunity to put your finishing touches on it as you desire. Or, leave as is and just enjoy it.
