Chevrolet S-10 1983 Description
For Sale is my 1983 Chevrolet S-10 Blazer 2wd. This is the first year Chevrolet made the S-10 Blazer. I am the 2nd owner. I bought it in 1990 and immediately lowered it w/Belltech 2" drop spindles and 2" lowering blocks. In 1993 under the guidance of my dad and his friend I rebuilt a 4-bolt main 350. The engine was bored .030 over. We installed flat top pistons and the stock 1.94 heads were ported and polished. We mounted an Edelbrock 600 carb on top of an Edelbrock Performer intake. We welded 2 1/2" .065 wall 304 SS dual exhaust w/Flowmaster mufflers. The engine fits in the engine bay quite well with an engine driven fan (not electric) and a 1989 Corvette radiator (bought new from a dealer when we did the swap in 1993). We relied on a V-8 swap manual by JTR Conversions that provided us with a lot of detailed information including pictures and GM part #'s for items we needed to make this project easier and more reliable upon completion. The original A/C components are there but it has not been completed or tested/charged.The idea was to create a fun reliable daily driver and we did. I drove it nearly everyday through 1994 and part of 1995. It was driven very little mostly not at all (read: bought a house got married and had kids) until July 2014. It had been stored inside since 1995. In the spring of 2014 I offered it up to my son as his first car. He accepted and we went to work on "finishing" it. A list of new parts is below. We drove it everyday from July 2014 to late November 2014 when the snow started flying here in northern Illinois. We got it back out of storage in April 2015 and we drive it everyday. We enjoy driving it however my son would prefer to have something he can drive year round. In the spirit of full disclosure: This vehicle is not rust free. It does not come with a warranty. It is driven daily and does have scratches chips and dings particularly a long scratch on the drivers door. It will need new tires soon. It is being sold as-is.Please review the list of new parts belowNew parts installed in 2014: Battery steering gear box front wheel bearings inner fender well seals upperand lower A-arms blasted and powder coated flat blackComplete front end rebuild kit from Spohn Performance including but not limited to front springs and shocks upper and lower ball joints Polyurethane bushings complete front and back including the transmission mount rear leaf springs Ford 9" rear end w/3:55 gears complete with new bearings brakes and associated hardware brake drums blasted and powder coated flat black rubber and felt around all windows and doors upholstery on front and rear seats along with spare tire cover by D&J Custom Stitch new spare tire Pioneer Digital Media Receiver w/hands free calling microphone KTP Alpine amplifier Kicker front and rear speakers rebuilt 700r4 transmission by B&C TransmissionsFor what its worth we have invested over $5000 since last spring to make this Blazer a decent driver for my son and that's doing most of the work ourselves. That doesn't include what was spent in 1993 on the engine and body work wheels and tires etc. My point is there is a lot of value here for somebody looking to get into a cool Hot rod with the heavy lifting already finished.Thank you for looking at our Hot rod. We've done a lot of work to this Blazer I'm sure I'm forgetting something. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to contact us we will be happy to answer in short order.
