Chevrolet Bel Air/150/210 1956 Description
1956 Chevy Bel Air
2dr Hardtop This is a real Bel Air - and it's the hard to find and very desirable 2dr hardtop (non-post). This is the one most collectors are looking for. Until very recently this car was a lifelong Arizona car that had been stored there in a pole building for the past 20 years. The body and the undercarriage of this car are both INCREDIBLY nice and original!! The odometer is showing just over 88000 miles. The engine is a later Chevy 283 with a 2bbl carburetor. Originally this was a column shift manual transmission car it's now a 3-speed manual on the floor. After I trailered the car home I did athoroughtune-up on it and rebuilt the carburetor...and the car fired right up! The car runs and drives well. At some point in the past the car was repainted; the paint is old and by no means perfect but it shines up nicely. This car also has under dash air conditioning...and it works! A few minor things on the car could use attention: The driver's side door window does not go up and down just by using the crank as you turn the crank you have to coax the window up and down with your other hand. . .the window has come loose and the regulator probably needs replacing. And the speedometer and the radio are not working. Keep in mind; this is a 59 year old car that has been sitting in Arizona storage for the past 20 years. This 1956 Bel Air is as solid an unrestored tri-five (1955 1956 1957) Chevy as you will find...you can easily tell that this car has been in a dry climate since new! These days it is very difficult to find a mostly original tri-five Bel Air 2dr hardtop that hasn't deteriorated to the point of being a basket case or already been amateurishly all monkeyed up by someone else. This classic Chevy gives you options: Drive and show it as it is a neat mostly original survivor car...or enjoy it for awhile as it is and then go all out later and restore it to showroom new. . .or you could restomod this cool and rock solid '56 Bel Air into the car of your dreams. I am a private seller not a dealer. The car is in my possession along with a clear title in my name. The car is being sold "as is where is" I encourage anyone seriously interested in buying the car to come and see the car in person; if you can't make it yourself you are certainly welcome to have someone inspect the car on your behalf. You can also call anytime with questions regarding the car. 608-790-5196On Jun-08-15 at 12:34:37 PDT seller added the following information:Ok folks I have had a number of ebayers contact me about this car and ask me for my "Buy It Now" price or "What's it take right now" price along with a few other variations of that question. I've even had one bidder bid the car up to the point where he revealed the reserve price to himself and then once he had that information he quickly retracted his bid. He now possibly has...I suppose an advantage over the rest of you. No realharm done but in order to be fair to all I am just going to come out and tell everyone what the reserve price is that I currently have on this car. I don't know if putting the reserve out there for everyone will change anything in how the auction moves along but at least we'll be back to a level playing field. The reserve price is $24000. EXTREMELYreasonable for a '56 Bel Air 2dr hardtop of thiscaliber.
