Chevrolet Bel Air/150/210 1965 Description
If you have less than 15 feedback, you need to contact me prior to bidding or I will delete your bid, thank you.
Up for bidding is a 1965 Chevy Belair, 4-dr sedan, with 49, original miles. I acquired the car from original owners Nephew after she(Senior Citizen), could no longer drive. This was about 5 years ago, 2011. The Nephew kept the vehicle in running order using several times a month.
The original owner lived in Southern Monterey County California where it spent it's entire life up until about 5 years ago and the vehicle was brought up to Salinas, Ca, This car She ordered was found at a Chevy dealership, located in Pacifica, Ca and a dealer swap was made. The car still retains the original black & yellow plates, along with the original dealership license plate frame. The build-sheet is probably still attached to the rear seat area, but I have not looked.
She ordered her car with the standard 230 cubic-inch 6-cyl, automatic trans, power Steering, manual brakes and AM radio. The car was re-painted before she stopped driving and was a quality paint job including the door jambs. The color is a bit brighter than the factory Irmine white. There are still some paint chips, scratches and some small creases. I just had the entire hood and upper left front fender re-painted due to other dents etc; The car still has the original glass, chrome bumpers(front has some scratches), original T-3 high-beam lamps, locks and keys and owners manual.
The interior is mostly original except for the front seat being re-upholstered in non original material and a dash cover. Dash has some cracks, headliner has a small tear above drivers area and rear seam is beginning to separate. Rear seat still original but has a tear (repairable). Door panels are very nice including the original carpet with some wear near the drivers door sill area. Steering wheel is very nice along with an uncut dash.
Since I acquired the car, the following has been replaced. New Hancook tires, full brake adjustment, front-end Centerlink with alignment, greased fittings, rear shocks and coil springs, oil/filter change and air-filter. Muffler appears to have been replaced not to long ago. The car runs and drives as if it just left the showroom, very smooth and comfortable.
What it needs- Correct drivers door rear-view mirror. This one appears to be a passenger side type. Radio antenna, probably broke off at some point and the hole was filled on the passenger fender when painted. Radio does work when turned on, but no reception. Windshield washer jar(bracket still in place) and passenger front interior vent cable.
The car is very solid for being 51 years old with solid front and rear floor pans, firewall, fenders and doors. Minor surface rust on frames etc; Trunk is also very solid, but had some small holes repaired by an amature? I just re-coated the trunk to give a nice appearance(Not trying to hide anything). Still has the original bias tire and jack assembly.
Like I mentioned earlier, this car runs and drives like a dream. I drove it home 60 miles away with no problems, shifted fine, no overheating issues and good brakes. All the lights work as well as the gauges, speedo and signals. It is a turn-key vehicle and would need very little to be 100 percent perfect which it is not at the present time.
I have set a reasonable reserve price based on overall condition. Granted, it is not a SS, 2-dr or convertible, but just a very clean everyday driver from the past. Any questions either E-mail or call me at (408) 448-1717. Thanks for viewing.
