Chevrolet Other 1948 Description
1948 Chevy 3100. Original truck with 216ci engine and 3 speed transmission. Truck runs good and drives down the road nicely. This was a barn find truck that I purchased at an estate auction last year. I have spent the last year going through the truck. The engine and trans were pulled and gone through and repainted. Everything on the truck works, all lights, dash gauges, interior lights, heater, horn, blinkers, windshield wipers. All new brakes from the petal to the pads and everything in between. I will provide a list below of all new parts. This is a good example of a original chevy pickup. Everything drivetrain has been addressed on truck, however the body is original with the exception of some minor body work and a paint re spray from many years ago. The truck is very solid, it does have a few rust spots as seen in the pics. Floor pans and cab are in great shape with some rust in the cab corners. Very interesting truck and piece of Chevy history. I have spent over $8000 in parts alone and have all the receipts to go with the truck. Below is a list of repairs and brand new parts.Brand New tires, Center caps, New Brakes ( pedal, master cylinder, all brake lines, wheel cylinders, pads.) New leaf spring on right front, new leaf spring U bolts, and hardware on remaining leaf springs, New gas tank, hoses and lines, and gas gauge float assembly. New windshield glass, rear glass, all new window rubber, door rubber, wind lace, window felt.New door latches, handles (inside and out) windowhandles andassemblies. New vent window assemblies on both doors. Drivers door mirror, door panels, arm rests. New rubber floor mat, pedals, heatercontrol switch, gauges rebuilt, glove box interior, glove box lid and lock, rear view mirror, horn button cover and parts. Complete seat rebuild includingfoam and cover.Engine compartment includes new hoses, relays, wiring, rebuilt carb, engine and trans mounts, radiator mounts, complete engine tune up with all parts new. Including water pump, points, cap, condenser, plugs, plug wires, coil, vacuum advance, all new gaskets, new clutch parts.u joint and transmission gaskets, fuel lines.New hood emblems, tail lights and brackets. New bed mounts and hardware with Yellow pine wood and new steel strips. And much much more!
This is not a perfect restored truck. It is meant to be an example of an original period truck with its original patina. Please keep this in mind. That said it is a nice truck that runs and drives good. Flaws of the truck that I can think of off hand are, driver side door window, slight hesitation in carburetor.
Please ask any and all questionyou may have, I will be happy to answer any questions and provide any pics.
