WHEN I PURCHASED THIS CAR FROM OWNER 4, ALL THAT WAS NEEDED TO MAKE IT ROAD WORTHY WHERE NEW BRAKES, HOSES, FLUIDS ETC. IT WAS IN FAIR CONDITION BUT HAD AN OLDER REPAINT SO WE DECIDED TO STRIP IT DOWN INSIDE AND OUT AND HAVE THE 100% NO HIT BODY REPAINTED IN ITS CORRECT BURGUNDY - CODE 988, USING ONLY THE BEST PAINT & MATERIALS AVAILABLE. THE STUNNING SHOW QUALITY REPAINT WAS DONE USING A PPG – DELTRON BASE COAT - CLEAR COAT THAT WAS LATER COLOR SANDED AND BUFFED TO A DEEP RICH, WET-LOOK SHINE AND A FULL CERAMIC PAINT TREATMENT WAS APPLIED FOR MAXIMUM SHINE AND BEAUTY. WE THEN INSTALLED ALL NEW WEATHER-STRIPPING THROUGHOUT. THE CHROME IS ALL ORIGINAL AND BEAUTIFULLY PLATED. ALL THE GLASS IS ORIGINAL AS WELL AND IN BEAUTIFUL CONDITION. THE FINISHED PRODUCT IS LIKE LOOKING INTO A MIRROR, IT IS ABSOLUTELY DROP-DEAD GORGEOUS FROM EVERY ANGLE AS IT SHOULD BE FOR A CAR OF THIS CALIBER. THE INTERIOR WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE CARPETING, THE INTERIOR IS ALL-ORIGINAL RIGHT DOWN TO THE DOOR PANELS AND SEAT COVERS. WHEN THE CAR ARRIVED, THE CARPET WAS STAINED AND A BIT FADED SO WE REPLACED THE OLD CARPET WITH A NEW NOS 80/20 LOOP AND PADDING SET AND BEGAN TO REMOVE AND RESTORE EVERY PART OF THE INTERIOR ONE AT A TIME ON THE BENCH. THE GAUGE CLUSTER IS ALL ORIGINAL AS WELL INCLUDING THE CLOCK WHICH WAS REBUILT AND IS WORKING AS IT SHOULD. THE ORIGINAL FACTORY GAUGES ALSO WORK AS THEY SHOULD. THE CENTER CONSOLE AND ALL THE ORIGINAL INTERIOR PANELS WERE REMOVED, CLEANED AND RE-DYED IN THE CORRECT 421 CODE SADDLE AND REINSTALLED. THIS AMAZING RESTORATION WAS LED AND PERFORMED BY A 30-YEAR VETERAN CORVETTE MASTER TECH BY THE NAME OF MANNY BUSTILLO WHICH ALSO GOES BY THE NICK NAME “VETTEITALL.” MANNY AND HIS TEAM HAVE RESTORED SOME OF THE MOST BEAUTIFUL C3’S YOU WILL EVER COME ACROSS. O BRAKE CALIPERS WERE REBUILT WITH ALL NEW RUBBER AND STEEL LINES O ADDED NEW BUSHINGS TO THE CAMBER STRUT RODS O LEAF SPRING WAS STRIP AND PAINTED TO FACTORY SPECS. O REAR-END RECEIVED ALL NEW BEARINGS AND SEALS. O TRANSMISSION, DRIVESHAFT AND HALF SHAFT WITH ALL NEW U-JOINTS O ALL NEW BUSHINGS ON THE REAR AND FRONT O FRONT END RECEIVED ALL NEW TIE RODS, UPPER AND LOWER BALL JOINTS O ALL NEW FRONT AND REAR SWAY BAR CUSHIONS AND BUSHINGS ALL THE ORIGINAL BORN WITH HARDWARE; BOLTS, NUTS, WASHERS ETC WERE CLEANED, WIRE-BRUSHED & REFURBISHED. THE FIBER OPTICS ENDS WERE CLEANED AND TESTED. BOTH FRONT HEADLIGHT WASHER’S ARE PRESENT AND WORKING. THE RALLY WHEELS WERE ALSO DONE IN THE CORRECT ARGENT SILVER, AND THE CAR IS NOW ROLLING ON 4 NEW / BFG TIRES. THE DRIVETRAIN THE DRIVE TRAIN ON THIS CORVETTE IS ALL-ORIGINAL INCLUDING THE REBUILT L46 MOTOR WHICH RUNS LIKE A TOP. REBUILDING SPECS ON THE ENGINE ARE AS FOLLOWS, BLOCK WAS DIP AND GLASS BEAD, BOAR AND HONED WITH ALL NEW BRASS PLUGS. NEW FORGED PISTONS WITH ALL NEW WRIST PINS, ROD BEARING KIT CAM BEARINGS SH616 WITH NEW VALVE SPRINGS AND LIFTERS NEW TIMING SET NEW HIGH VOLUME OIL PUMP REBUILT ORIGINAL WATER PUMP HEADS WERE STRIP AND 16 NEW GUIDE LINERS, 8 EXHAUST HARDENED VALVE SEATS WITH 3 ANGLE COMPETITION VALVE JOB ICE ORIGINAL 4 CORE ALUMINIUM RADIATORORIGINAL 7 BLADE FAN ALL EXTERNAL COMPONENTS ON THIS ENGINE ARE ORIGINAL EXCEPT FOR THE SMOG PUMP. INCLUDING THE CARB, L46 INTAKE, EXHAUST MANIFOLDS AND AC COMPRESSOR WHICH WAS FULLY REBUILT AND SERVICED WITH NEW BEARINGS AND CLUTCHI ALSOSOURCED AND REPLACED THE OLD EXHAUST SYSTEM WITH A NEW NOS UNIT. AS YOU CAN SEE IN THE PICTURES AND VIDEO PROVIDED IN THIS LISTING, THE ENGINE RUNS PERFECTLY AND IS DETAILED TO PERFECTION. I HAVE DRIVEN THIS MONSTER AND I CAN TELL YOU FIRST HAND IT HANDLES LIKE IT’S ON RAILS AND WILL PIN YOU TO THE SEAT IN EVERY GEAR. IT GOES DOWN THE ROAD STRAIGHT AND TRUE WITH NO STEERING PLAY OR STRANGE NOISES OR RATTLES, IT WILL RUN ALL DAY IN A HOT FLORIDA SUN AT 200 DEGREES IN TRAFFIC AND WILL STAY UNDER 210 DEGREES WITH A/C ON.
