Chevrolet Camaro 1971 Description
Schroeder Motor Co. is proud to offer this 42 Thousand Original Mile 1971 Camaro Z-28 R/S.
The Engine & Transmission.
Numbers Matching LT1 350 - 330 Horse. The engine runs smoothly,..sounds absolutely correct and has beenpainted on the block,...components and inner fenders for a more finished look.
The air cleaner is original as is the decal it wears. The Cowl Tag has never been removed. The Engine Family decals are original too. A very well preserved engine bay showing only mild restoration as needed. The 350 is healthy,...she runs and needs nothing to make it any better than stock performance standards.
The transmission shifts smooth in and out of gear,...the clutch is easy in and out and catches right on que everytime. No need for any service work here either,....this Z28 is a treat to drive,....a throw back ride and drive for sure......It's a very nice running and driving car.
The Exterior Condition.
Original sheet metal still wearing it's 2nd repaint from 20 + years ago. It's in need of a paint job if you're going for that near perfect totally restored $60 thousand dollar car look,....but......if you like patina,...this car really works as an older repainted close to original collector car. The Trim & Color Codes are correct.
The Z28 Emblems are the originals,...so are the bumpers and other trim work. Notice the wheels,...they're originals,...and have their original paint and patina too.
The vinly top has been replaced,...the side glass is original,...the hat tray has been recovered and the head liner and seat belts are original too. Also,...please notice the seat belt ribbons still attached and the date tags are very nice. The plastic seat belt covers anchored to the floor by the doors are original too.
The original carpets are nice,...for their age. All of the seats are original except the bottom of the drivers chair. The original dash is very nice,...but is showing a sign of warping right in the center,...but really excellent for an original.
All of the gauges work,...including the tach.
In summary,...a very well preserved low mile interior that while is not perfectly preserved,...it's still at the top level nonetheless for it's originality.
The Floors & Frame.
Original and superb. Painted to protect it from the elements. It looks nice and there are very few out there this good and this original that are for sale.
The Trunk.
Nice and painted to preserve and protect too. We do not have the original spare tire and wheel. What you see in the trunk is what you get.....sorry.
In Closing.
This is truely an American Muscle Car Investment. To have this level of survivorship is rare in itself. Yes,...the car would need a paint job to be in Show Quality,....but not everybody has that kind of money to throw at something that they would be scared to drive and enjoy. This car provides a terrific chance to buy a seriously great Split Bumper at a very affordable price.
No,...this car is not perfect,...yes it's worth owning at the Collector Level with just under 43,000 Original Miles.
