The Story:
So we bought a whole fleet of county/stateservice trucks, lat beds, rane trucksetc and this old conversion van was part of the package. This van was used by a New Mexico police departmentas an undercover surveillance vehicle since 2008 thus the low miles. Normally I don't listvehicles like this but this oldvan runs and drives so well (I drove it 65 miles back to Colorado) I didn't have the heart to ship it to auction. I figure with Spring right around the corner and so much interest these days in DIY camper vans,someone wants this van to build, amp and have some cheap fun. It has a fresh oil/filter change and I installed a brand new650 CCA battery, t always starts up instantly and runs like a champ.
Options and Drivetrain:
Hasa very strong 5.7L (good ol reliable 350) engine, uto transmission, on smoking, quipped with power windows, ocks, ilt, int, ruise, C, ower mirrors etc. Has a good set of matched tires, ody is 100% rust free and overall very straight aside from the 2 doors listed below. All 4 seats are in excellent condition, ith a little elbow grease and TLC this could be a really nice conversion van once again. My preference would be that someone come drive and inspect this van in person as it is sort of a project vehicle.
Though invery goodoverall condition, his is a used23 year oldvan and as you would expect there are imperfections, cratches, ings, ear, tc. I am being very "nit-picky" on some of this stuff because I value my reputation/feedback but please have realistic expectations.
There isdamage to the drivers door where someone backed into something, hey bent to top of the window frame (hard to get the window up and down) and buckled the door panel itself(see photo) I have a rust free white replacement door available at a local wrecking yard for $65
Thereis aplace on the rear driver side door where someone backed into the spare tire carrier(see photos) it cannot be seen from outside and does not appear to affect the working of the door.
There are some stains in the carpet, ear, ear as you would expect, irt etc (see photos)
I unhook the battery cables when parked as there is a small interiorlight on the passenger side that stays on and drains the battery (see photos)
When they removedpolice electronics/equipment they left wiring and the lower panel removed under the steering column (see photos) I have the lower cover and the carpet that could be "reglued" to the dog house cover.
There are some small dents in the rear bumper and there are a couple cracks, tars in the windshield.
There are a few little door dings, cratches etc as you would expect on avan of this age and mileage but nothing that is worth taking photos of...
