Chevrolet Bel Air/150/210 1957 Description

1957 Chevrolet Belair 2 Door Hardtop I am selling this for a friend who purchased this car from the widow of the previous owner. The prevoius owner had painted the car with black lacquer but then became ill passing away before he could even remove the masking tape. The car sat like that for about a decade when we got it and we then remove the masking and there is still some glue on the chrome in places. The car has been wet sanded but never buffed. The interior is new original style black and gray complete with seat covers. door panels. carpet sunvisors headliner. package tray etc. The engine is a 1957 283 with newer heads. intake and carb. The car has been converted to an altenator with internal voltage regulator. 4 speed muncie trans which shifts effortlessly with the Hurst shifter. The tires are all new radials with old fashion porterwalls. It has a full stock style exhaust system. Look at the pictures there is one floor brace on each side of the floor that is rusted and some in the back of the trunk just ahead of the rear panel. I would recommend repainting the car but you can try buffing it. the painter was obviously not a professional there is overspray on the chrome in places. The car starts right up but I haven't driven it more than a few miles and the brakes are going to need attention because it pulls hard to the right. The car is an original V8 because the VIN starts with a V but I don't know if the engine is the original to the car but I know it is a 1957 283 engine. We couldn't find the keys to the car with the exception of the glove box key so you will need to have keys made for the ignition and trunk. The ignition is usable just doesn't lock without key. The trunk key had to be drilled out so it will have to be replaced. I will not have access to email so the best way to contact me is by my phone listed here 217-620-3405. Payment in person please before the car leaves.
