Chevrolet C-10 1969 Description
I have for sale my 1969 Chevy C10 long bed pickup. The truck has an almost perfect body with a small rust spot at the driver's heel and one or two small spots in unimportant and easy to fix places. The body is straight and dent free, ith two new triple-chrome bumpers and tailgate arms. The truck is equipped with a 350 CI V8 with full dual exhausts, remanufactured Quadrajet just installed, new fuel pump, ull tuneup with new wires, lugs, ap, otor, CV and a new vacuum advance unit on the distributor. According to the previous owner, he engine was rebuilt with .030 over pistons 7,000 miles ago. I have just changed the oil and filter. A brand new duralast Gold battery and cable ends were installed a few months ago. It starts and runs very well and does not leak, moke or seep. The engine operates quietly and is happy to pull with no questions.
The truck is equipped with a Muncie M21 4 speed manual transmission and hurst floor shifter. The previous owner did a lot of work to this truck to make it powerful and fun to drive. At a certain point he had problems with the transmission. He then parked the truck and let it go for years. When I received the truck I pulled the transmission and delivered it to a Muncie specialist in the area who replaced all consumable items and rebuilt it completely. While the transmission was out I replaced the clutch assembly with a top quality NAPA item, eplaced the pilot bearing, ear main seal and output yoke and universal bearings. It now shifts and operates normally. The truck is equipped with American Racing style alloy wheels and slightly oversized tires. They have plenty of tread but are very dry rotted from sitting when it was put away by the previous owner. They hold air fine.I drive the truck in my local area for small errands but have yet to have the need to take it down the highway at 70mph. The truck has a smaller than stock racing style steering wheel and has a new seat cover. the original seat is still plush and comfortable but has torn at the seam under the driver. All glass is perfect and the flat black paint is actually very well done. The grille is dinged and has some cracks it is the only thing that I would say is flawed about this truck's appearance.
This is a great driver that will be even better after a little more driving and tuning. I would go through the truck and double check the adjustments on everything before it became my daily driver, ut can say with confidence that this truck could be brought up to show-quality with very little effort. It starts right up even on -10 degree mornings and stops well, he lights all work, ut some connections might need to be cleaned as they sometimes need to be turned on and off before the interior lights come on. The battery charges and the radiator is clean with fresh fluid. The M21 is a close ratio gear set towards the top end. It gets you going pretty quick and I would expect a nice calm engine RPM and good fuel economy with the higher differential and large tires coupled with the Quadrajet. This is the best looking era for the GM pickup truck, nd this machine was built to last. Parts for everything that you could imagine are immediately available and very cheap. It is a useful, un to own and good looking and valuable classic machine. You can't go wrong with this truck. My business circumstances have changed and I have other investments that need to be made.
Feel free to ask any questions. A deal is a deal. If you bid and buy, t is yours. Look closely at the 23 pictures and you will not be disappointed. I know several shippers if you are looking to have the truck delivered.
