Chevrolet Other Pickups 1955 Description

This is a 1955 Chevy 3600 Pickup. It is the second series body style of 1955. Has the step side box. Blue exterior with almond interior. Has the 235 inline 6 cylinder engine with 4 speed manual transmission. 12 volt system. Engine and transmission work good. Good clutch. Transmission shifts as it should. Engine runs decent. Tires and wheels are pretty good. Rear tires are a little weather checked. Probably wouldn't trust them too far. When I got the truck, t had multiple colors of brushed on paint, o I sanded it and sprayed a coat of primer and paint on the body, nterior, heels, nd some engine parts, atching the original color as close as I could. Not aprofessionaljob, ut looks a whole lot better than it did. I also patched a couple small holes in the floor before painting, hen carpeting. Reupholsteredfront seat. I think all the gauges work, xcept maybe the fuel gauge. I'll check that again and update description. Put new brake master cylinder and all four wheel brake cylinders in. Plus a couple brake lines. Brakes work. Lights work, ncluding blinkers and dome light. Wiring looks OK. Drivers door roll down window is cracked. All other glass is good. Replaced water pump and thermostat. Flushed cooling system. There are a few rust through areas including bottom of door skins, ab corners, ront fender rear corners, small hole above passenger side headlight, nd probably a couple more I don't recall right now (see pictures and use the zoom feature). These are rust areas that are very common in this part of the country. If I remember right, he only bondo I saw was above that right headlight and maybe one of the rear fenders. There is a few dents here and there. Suspension leaf springs are heavy duty and good (stiff). Shocks will need replacing if desired. I didn't replace them because with the stiff springs, didn't see the need. Rides fine as is. Wood in bed is original and starting to break apart in a couple places, o would be a candidate for replacement wood. Being most of the wood remains, ells me it probably was stored inside most of it's life. In this neck of the woods, hese old 3/4 ton trucks were mostly farm trucks and stored in a pole building when not in use. When I bought it last year, t was outside and not running. I put in new plugs, nd distributer cap. Cleaned fuel system, ncluding tank. Tuned it and changed oil. Runs good. It is currently registered with clear title and I do drive it on occasion, ocally. I've included the 12 free pictures Ebay allows, howing majority of the truck. Kind of hard to show all in 12 pictures. So feel free to contact me if you need more pictures or have questions. And if you are in this area, nd want to see the truck, ontact me and we can set that up. As a post retirement hobby, enjoy working on these old trucks and bring them back from usually a slow death in a field or behind the barn, tc. I don't restore them totally, ust enough to make them drivable, egal, nd look decent. Whatever painting I do, s a pretty close match to the original paint. Complete restoration or modifications is left to the next owner. Or it can be driven and shown the way it is, ith maybe a few minor updates andtweaksthe next owner will choose to make. One thing I do want to discuss - I understand this is an online auction with only pictures and brief description to go by. Sometimes making it a tough decision with only those parameters. So I'll try to make the decision making a little easier. We'll keep it simple, f the winning buyer, fter seeing the truck, s not happy with the deal, will not obligate him or her to purchase. I will then offer it to the next highest bidder, nd so on until sold. Or I might just relist. This is a nice, ood looking truck in the year group you don't often see, o it wouldn't bother me much to keep it as long as needed. The values seem to keep going up nicely. Personally, really don't think the winning bidder will be unsatisfied. But that is their decision. Buyer will need to arrange pick up. I am flexible with time and days, nd will assist in loading. Can be driven on trailer. Delivery is a possible option that will need to be discussed, f needed, rior to bidding. Contact me anytime. If you aren't a big fan of internet communication, ive me a call at 715-554-1166. I will want a $500 deposit made to my Paypal account, y the winning bidder, ithin 48 hours after auction ends. Balance to be paid when truck is picked up. Cash ispreferred. Thanks and good luck. Have fun looking at the pictures. And again, on't hesitate to ask questions before bidding. It's a good looking truck that has the body style of looking like it's going fast just sittingstill.
I had a question regarding the frame - frame is good - not rusted through - only normal surface rust, irt, rease, tc. In other words, have not cleaned the frame. Probably some antique rust, rime and grease (will include with sale at no extra cost.....). No dents, epairs or indications of being hit. I did grease all the grease fittings on underside (there are a few).
Anyone who lives close and would like to stop and see the truck, have a lift in the shop, o the underside can be easily viewed.
