Chevrolet Corvette 1971 Description
1971 Corvette 350 300HP |
|
This is a very solid 1971 Corvette. It could be used as a driver or restored to original condition or turn into a retro-mod Corvette. The front upper and lower a-arms have been rebuilt with new bushing and it also has new tie-rods and rear shocks, ear spring bushings and rear adjustable links. Tires are in very nice shape. Without much work this could be a nice weekend driver. The Corvette was repainted at some point to red as it was originally war bonnet yellow. The body still retains all of the original bonding strips. Looks like there was a small repair on the passenger front fender edge and a spot above the passenger rear tail light. You can see how the paint is flaking up in these areas. The red paint has various chips and scratches throughout the body. The right inner splash shield has some missing fiberglass; I will include a new one with the car. The doors all shut great and the gaps are all very nice. The headlights also line up very good and are fully operational. The frame is very solid with just your average surface rust. The frame has no repairs done. All the AC components are there and the compressor turns by hand but there is no belt on it. Looks like the heater core was bypassed sometime in the past. The seats have been recovered some time ago in original leather style seat covers which has no tears but some light wear that could be fixed with some leather dye. It has excellent shape door panels I have driven it about 150 miles and it drives good but could use right front caliper seals as that caliper leaks and the water pump gaskets leak. Other than that it drove fine. Over all this is a nice Corvette that with a very small amount of work could be a very reliable driver. It still has the original engine. Options; C60 Air Conditioning J50 Power Brakes M40 Turbo-Hydro-matic Automatic Transmission N40 Power Steering 300 HP 350 ci Engine Originally 989 War Bonnet Yellow with 417 Saddle Vinyl I have a small collection of cars and have collected cars for the last 20 years. I have bought many cars on EBay over the years that looked and sounded good but when I got them I was surprised by some obvious defects that were never disclosed. A few times cars come in looking better than I thought. I know this is the risk you take buying sight unseen over the internet. Unfortunately many sellers and dealers will just post tons of pictures without saying a word about the condition of the car. Ibelieve to grow the hobby of collecting cars you need more than a lot of pictures. You need to describe the condition the best you can. I try to point out any obvious things that I would like to know about if I was buying a car sight unseen. I am sure I may miss something small but I welcome anyone to come and inspect my cars or have a 3rdparty come and inspect them before you bid. If there is anything you would like a picture of just send me an email and I will take it for you. Please ask all questions before the auction ends. Thanks For looking.
