Chevrolet Impala 1994 Description
When was the last time you read a car description that included features like 400 hp LT1, ix-speed manual, ully adjustable suspension, nd Richard Petty Motorsports? That's just the tip of custom-built iceberg that is this specialty 1994 Chevrolet Impala SS.For a brief moment in time during the bleak 90s, he American muscle car was back. Chevrolet went back to the idea of dropping its high performance motor into the full sized sedan, nd they awoke the coveted Impala SS nameplate. This was a true upgrade that cut the fat from the Caprice, nd dropped the chrome, ntil it looked beastly. 1994 was the first of a limited three-year production for the model, nd it is by far the rarest of the trio. It was only available in black, nd this one wears it with exceptionally shiny pride today. But even just looking at this one, ou know it's something extra special. The engine and interior are easy giveaways to custom work (more on that in a moment,) but this one already hints at its enhanced nature, ith items like silver SS stripes, lat black hood/trunk wrap (removable), nd 20-inch Billet Specialties wheels.Inside there has been a heavy investment in this Impala SS, nd you probably need to sit down to full appreciate it. For starters, he factory steering wheel was nowhere near as grippy or attractive as this Momo three-spoke sports steering wheel. A center console out of a '96 car was utilized so that it could be adapted for the Hurst short throw shifter (yes, his one has the stick-shift the factory never dared to do!) But, ore than just exciting the driver, his full-size sedan has a luxury side that offers plenty of room for five people, ith seating covered in gray leather. You can tell by the condition both rows of seats, nd the coordinating gray carpeting, hat this was someone's cherished cruiser and not a daily driver. It comes loaded with power everything seats, teering, indows, ocks, tc. The ice-cold air conditioning is running modern R-134a. But possibly the piece you're passengers will enjoy the most inside is the custom AM/FM/XM/DVD stereo. It has a full JL Audio system, ncluding subwoofers in the custom trunk enclosure. The flatscreen interface even houses a back-up camera. But as cool as everything else is, t's what's under the hood that will make you lust for this Impala. All of these came with GM's rocket ship LT1 motor, ut this one blows the others away. Its fuel-injected V8 was assembled by Richard Petty Motorsports and rated at a whopping 400 horsepower 54% more than a factory Impala SS. While you can spot plenty of the upgrades in the engine and undercarriage photos, veryone you pass will know it too, hanks to the roar of the Borla performance dual exhaust that was custom-built for this project. The big power is backed up by a Tremec TKO600 six-speed manual that feeds the enhanced 10-bolt rear end with Perfect Launch cover. Chevy beefed up the suspension for these at the factory, ut Richard Petty Motorsports went even further with components such as QA1 adjustable coilovers at every corner. This handling package is capped off with vented four-wheel disc brakes, nd low profile Toyo Proxes performance tires. This car was a classic from day one. That's why it's in such good condition and comes with the original owner's manual. It's an investment-grade custom car, t a price that won't last because this new class of hot rods is heating up.
