Thanks for checking out “RUSTY”, very fitting name for this little guy don’t you think? This is a great truck, are Big Back Window, hort Box, leetside, nd yes, lenty of natural Patina, verall very solid, his is what I would call a finished project. I got it from a friend of mine, e was the one who resurrected off of an old ranch here in Oregon, and brought it back to life. I’ve done a few small upgrades to it, ut overall this is how I got it. He took this truck all over the Northwest to car shows, intage camping rallys, ulled a little Aloha trailer too many meets. We think this truck might have been used as a U.S. Park Rangers rig at some point. The tailgate and rear bumper are original, nd you can see some of the old decals are showing through. Rusty looked awesome pulling this little trailer to shows, nd meets, his truck is a hit for sure. I remember the first time seeing it driving around town, nd thought to myself, ow that is a great looking truck. It is running an Inline 235 inline 6, spd Transmission, s wired to pull a trailer, intage correct rusty chrome reversed wheels, l school ground white walls, isor, exican blanket, t is ready to roll, ly in if you like an adventure and drive him home. This will make someone an awesome little shop truck, ntique business, tc, t attracts a lot of attention. If you like Patina, hen you got it, usty has plenty of it and then some. Originally a Light bluish green color, ou can see it behind the cab, ailgate, nd under the engine compartment, his color is all over the truck, ot a pieced together truck, actory Big Back Window Fleetside - Shortbox. About 30 years ago, he truck got parked out on the ranch, nd there it rested until about 2013. A couple years ago he was saved, nd built it a great little truck, he perfect patina, ith the right look, eople pay a lot of money these days to create this look. This is real patina, o faux finish, his is the real deal. No clear coat on it, his is bare beautiful surface rust. An open canvas, rive it like it is, r take it to the next level, opefully you leave the Patina, ut if you don’t that is fine to, t is a solid little truck. The body is in great shape, retty obvious that it is a solid truck, ery straight a few light dings and dents, he biggest in the passenger side spear, ut all fixable, ut it goes along with the look I think. It does have some rust on it, esides all the surface rust. There is some rust through in these areas. Around the inner windshield along the gasket, he corners of the cab, he bottom of the fenders. Also the bottoms of the other cab, ave some rust at both corners, t is dual walled and looks good from the back side. The bed looks to be in great shape, ome rust behind the back wheels under the bumper, retty typical with the vintage Barton bumpers. This bumper is pretty special, ever saw one before, ou can lay the tailgate all the way down, pecially made for U.S. Forestry rigs. The floors and inner jams all look very good no rust. Underneath looks great, he rockers, re solid but as you can see them and dented at the bottom, ut looks worse than they really are, ut easy to fix, hey are only single walled, nd are in good shape. There is some rust behind the passenger drivers and passenger front wheels at the bottom of the cowl, ave to look up underneath the truck in fender well to see it. The frame on the truck is in great shape, o issue, ery solid no repairs. Overall a great Rat Rod look, ut on top of that, his is a very good truck, nd a Rare Big Back Window Fleetside helps a lot, ard to find truck in general. It has old plywood in the bed, ith original rusty slats that have been fastened down, ooks good that way I think, ou could build a fancy bed if you wanted in the future. The interior is what it is, ostly original looking, ever restored. The seat is in good shape, sed to be brown but someone spray painted it black, here are no tears in it, ut of a 1980’s truck, he padding is good, nd feels great as well, ut the Mexican Blanket, ooks better on it, nd I cool look these days. You could get the seat reupholstered if you like down the road. Has an original vintage steering wheel out of a 1953-54 Chevrolet Bel Air, t is old, ut looks great in Rusty. The bottom of the passenger door is rusty, s you can see in photos. Radio delete. The dash lights work, he dome light works off of a little toggle switch, ipers work on both speeds. All the gauges look to be working, he gas gauge works, ut when you get going it flickers around a bit. The horn works, eater works, ipers all work. The speedometer works, ut the odometer is not working, he little 1/10th works, ut does not move the rest of the numbers on odometer. The jams and floors are in really nice shape. As you will see the windshield as a crack and a couple chips. The side door glass is good, nd rolls up and down nicely. The vent glass on the passenger side has a crack in it. There are no door rubbers, nd the window rubbers are old, ut it stays pretty dry inside. The most important piece the rear Big Back Window glass is in great shape. Overall, he interior is in good shape, or a rat rod type of driver. It is clean, on smoker, nd your wife or girlfriend won’t mind taking a spin around the block in it. Mechanically it is in pretty good shape. The engine is a Chevrolet 235 Inline six, t was rebuilt years ago, ut runs very good. I show a picture of the rockers and the internals look very clean. It does not blow any smoke, r burn oil. It has just been freshly detailed, othing special, ust makes it look nice when you look under the hood, uch more in order and presentable, ot trying to fool anyone to think it was a fresh rebuild just detailed up, eople are surprised when they lift the hood, ou don’t expect it. It has new valve cover gasket, ntake and exhaust gaskets. There are some minor engine and tranny normal oil seepage, othing that hits the floor that often, aybe a drip or 2 over the weekend, othing that I would really want to fix, ust older normal gaskets worn and such, he truck is a rat rod, ot a restored trailer queen. The biggest things, s that it starts right up, nd you can drive Rusty all day long, t is very dependable, t steers good for an old truck, anders a little bit but not to bad, t drives straight down the road. The transmission is a 4spd manual, nd shifts good, lutch feels great, oes not pop out of gear, ery smooth shifting. The brakes work good, rums all the way around, tops nice and straight. It has single exhaust, uffler has a couple pin holes in it, ut not bad enough were I would want to change it out, f you did a split manifold with dual exhaust would be a nice add. Overall mechanically it has been tried and proven, specially this last year, ulling a vintage trailer, n trips here in the Northwest, t has been on many 600 mile round trips to different events, trust it to drive anywhere. With that said it is an old truck, nd will also need tinkering now and then but overall a very good reliable driver. The wheels are vintage 15x8 Reversed wheels, ave a lot of pitting on them, ut they serve the period look of the truck, nd the look. The tires are in good shape, ith about 80% on them, ven tire wear, he white walls have been ground down to expose wide whites on it, verall decent tires, f you wanted a wider white, ou might want to get new tires. It has an aftermarket fuel tank in the bed, he one behind the seat has been removed. Overall mechanically a good truck, ll the exterior lights work, rake lights, urn signals, tc.
