Chevrolet Silverado 2500 1991 Description
This truck is in good shape for its age. It's been in my family and well cared for for most of it's 25 years. We've always had additional vehicles to drive so it has low mileage. I converted the air conditioner to the new system a couple years ago and recharged it this summer. It blows cold. I installed a new stereo and speakers about 4 years ago. Last summer I replaced the headlights because the old plastic was too cloudy. In July of this year I put 4 new Michelin tires on it, oving one 5 year old Michelin to the spare, installed Happijac tie towns, ew heavy duty shocks, nd had the springs rebuilt with new additional leafs, nstalled new, nd extendable mirrors. In October I installed new front brakes, ebuilt the transmission, nd added a Hayden transmission cooler. Then I learned that my camper (a 3,300 # Lance) is much too heavy for the truck. The GVW for this truck is 7200#. I've never towed a trailer with it, ut my cousin did when he owned it before me.It has front and rear receiver hitches, plug by the back bumper for a trailer, nd a plug in the bed for a camper. I had an extra battery installed under the hood, ith a button on the dash so I can jump start the truck if I kill the battery in the middle of nowhere. I was planning to paint it, ut when I had the truck/camper combo weighed I gave up. I replaced the water pump a couple years ago, nd fix every leak as soon as it's detected by my mechanic, s well as everything else he recommends. The truck passed California's enhanced smog test last month.
Mileage will increase slightly since I'm driving it this week to get more exposure. I will be uploading the repair records when I receive them from my mechanic.
Now for the bad - there is slight body damage on the passenger side and some rust on the roof - see pictures, he plastic on top of dash is cracked badly but covered by dash mat, here are some scratches in the paint- its 25 years old! The headliner is sagging, ut upholstery is in great condition. Needs new ABS unit, oor hinges work, ut need attention.
