Chevrolet Camaro 1974 Description
In 1974 The second-generation f-body got its first major facelift. The changes while pretty significant meant the camaro was now eight inches longer than the previous year. However there's no arguing that this '74 LT Z28 doesn't still show clear Camaro DNA in its look. That's right this is a true '74 LT Z28 making it one very rare Camaro. Lets take a closer look. 1974 would be the last year of the Z28 for a few years but Chevrolet made its mark by adding the optional striking and large hood with "Z28" decals. This particular example is simply stunning covered in a fresh coat of silver. The body shows clearly that someone took their time to get all the details perfect and minus the coda markings from the assembly line this is about like it came off the showroom floor. Panel gaps are excellent and what little chrome was left in '74 is in great shape and the body is absolutely laser straight. Up front you'll see the correct black painted grille and new for '74 an aluminum bumper. As you make your way to the back you'll find a seamless Z28 branded rear spoiler that sits above an Type LT emblem that signifies just how rare this f-body is. You would be hard pressed to find a body as clean as this Camaro. The underside and inside is as impressive as well.Pop open the doors and you'll find and amazingly well done LT interior. Completely restored this interior is in excellent condition. It starts with the new legendary black door panels that frame in the all the hardware with chrome trim. The seats have been re-skinned in new seat covers and are incredibly comfortable for those long drives. Above the driver is a new headliner while in front of you is what appears to be the original correct steering wheel that wears the sought after LT emblem in the center. Beyond the wheel you'll notice a brand new dash that includes what appears to be the original gauge cluster. In front of the new console you'll find the AM/FM radio equipped with a cassette player. Add in a tilt wheel power steering power brakes and defrost and you've got an incredible interior to log miles from. Crack open the sharply decaled silver hood and you'll reveal an immaculate engine bay that is stuffed with a 1970 LT1 350ci V8 from a Z/28. The four bolt main utilizes factory LT1 heads roller rockers and a 290 duration lift to crank out 435 HP! Built by Chuck's Performance engines formerly with Richard Petty Racing the engine has been restored to a factory appearance. Covered in the famous Chevy orange the engine also features a chrome air filter and chrome Chevy branded valve covers. Bolted to the very potent small block is a 4-speed manual transmission that sends those ponies to a 10-bolt posi equipped with 3.42 gears. Stopping power comes courtesy of front power disc brakes. Bolted to those hubs you'll find a nice touch of 15" Rev Torque thrust wheels that have been wrapped in new Federal Super Steel rubber.
