Chevrolet Camaro 1967 Description

When you restore a valuable car like this 1967 Camaro RS/SS 396 it's OK to deviate a little from the original specs as long as you keep all the parts. And that's exactly why this car is special. It's numbers-matching with a long list of options and anything that was changed meant that the original parts were carefully packed away just in case someone wants to take it back to 100% stock. Nice!Deepwater Blue is a rather rare color on the 1967 Camaros and it is indeed this car's original choice. Why it wasn't chosen more often is a mystery because it looks absolutely fantastic on the trim F-body sheetmetal. Of course nothing the factory was turning out in 1967 looked anywhere near this good with deep distortion-free reflections in the well-prepped surfaces and great panel gaps all around. This is a legitimate RS/SS model so it has the wrap-around stripe on the nose that highlights the folding headlights and as a factory big block car the blacked-out tail panel was also part of the package. A black vinyl top adds a touch of formality to the overall look and considering the horsepower that lives underneath it's a nice contrast that shows no wrinkles or other issues in the usual areas. Bright chrome bumpers look especially good against the dark blue paint and the bright inserts on the original hood add a racy look. The all-new blue bucket seat interior stands as a fantastic contrast to the dark blue paint job and is far more appealing than plain old black would have been. Again it's how this car was originally spec'd and has been treated to new seat covers fresh carpets reproduction door panels and a dash full of crisp clear rebuilt gauges. The center console now features a 4-speed manual gearbox where there was originally an automatic but as I mentioned the numbers-matching TH400 is available should the new owner desire it. The list of options is rather lengthy and includes such desirable features as power windows a tilt steering column and a fully functional rear defroster a fold down rear seat plus a factory AM/FM radio. The console us augmented with a set of auxiliary gauges and a clock that look especially good and the carpets are protected by color-matched rubber floor mats that fit well. The trunk wears correct spatter-finish paint and needs only a reproduction mat (very inexpensive) to complete the high-quality finished look. This is the original numbers-matching 396 cubic inch V8 under the hood rebuilt to L78 375 horsepower specifications. It comes with a build sheet for the engine which includes a full roller cam a correct L78 intake manifold Doug's long-tube headers and a set of deep-breathing 427 rectangle port heads. It's worth noting that all the original engine components were retained and are included with the car should you wish to go back to L34 specs. It was detailed for show and wears correct chrome valve covers Chevy Orange paint and reproduction hoses with correct stampings and all the fasteners are period-correct. You'll be glad for the power steering and power front disc brakes on a car with this much performance and it sounds spectacular with the fresh dual exhaust system cackling underneath. There's also a bulletproof 12-bolt rear end with 3.73 gears inside and the chassis is just as highly detailed as the engine bay worthy of the car's pedigree. Handsome Rally wheels and F70-14 redline tires complete the accurate look. This is a very impressive car on every level. Smart upgrades make it a lot more desirable and by keeping all the original parts the restorer also kept its pedigree intact. Call today!
