We here at BTM are making History restoring this Holy Grail Bill Thomas Aluminum Cheetah. What we have up for auction is all the remaining Parts from #001 Aluminum body Front Bonnet Cowl L & R cowl sides T-Panel for roof.Plus Genuine L & R Aluminum doors The body will have around 65% Genuine Aluminum Cheetahpieces. These parts are the only remaining Aluminum parts from Car #001.We are going to include all Genuine Bill Thomas Cheetah parts we have that will apply to this restoration. The partial rear body section needed will be produced in California As well as certain Aluminum interior partsas needed. We will rebuild the 327Chevrolet Engineering CenterEXP Engine wereceived with the purchase of the Super Cheetah for this project. Genuine Grand Sport Aluminum rear axle will be included Genuine rear Aluminum fuel tank. This was the Proto Type built to show GM Bill Thomas Race Cars could build a Cobra killer for road racing. Well Bill did and Charlie Simmons of Chevrolet R&D wrote a report claiming this car to be the highest lateral acceleration 1.18g front engine rear drive automobileever tested at GM proving grounds. We all know now Chevrolet pulled the plug on everything Racing due to the Government pressure. This ban hit Bill Thomas Race Cars May 1964 on all support for the entireCheetah program. This Cheetah will be past the 50% Genuine Bill Thomas Cheetah parts in the end result when completed. This is a major plus due to most Bill Thomas Cheetahs today are not even 50% Genuine Cheetah Parts. It is the only option to restore what we have and it is the correct movefor Bill Thomas Cheetah History. It is for sale for the 1st time since Bill Thomas bought it back from GM.
