Chevrolet Other Pickups 1966 Description

For Sale: 1966 GMC 1000 Fleetside pickup. I am the third owner of the vehicle. I purchased thetruck 14years ago from an individual in Grand Junction, O who bought it from the original owner’s Estate (also in Grand Junction). Thesecond ownerdid not use or alter the vehicle but offered itfor sale shortly after purchase. At the time I purchasedthe vehicle, t had been out of use for 25 years and had just under 40,000 miles. The gas tank required cleaning, he fuel filter and pump needed to be replaced but it was in otherwise very good running condition. I have since used the truck regularly as a work vehicle, t now has just over 106,000 miles.

The truckretains the original305 V6 engine and 4 speed manual transmission. It has been an excellent work truck. While I’ve owned the vehicle, ’ve removed and cleaned the gas tank (added an in-tank filter), eplaced the fuel pump/filter, arburetor, eater core, water pump, lutch, attery, ires and performed regular maintenance. The truck runs very strong, teers straight and starts reliably even in extreme temperatures. It is in very sound mechanical condition. The tires are relatively new (less than 2000 miles). The brakes function well but were last serviced 20,500 miles ago. The exhaust is in need of replacement.

It would be a very good vehicle to continue to use as a regular work truck and would also be an excellent candidate for restoration. All major components are original. The paint is the original paint, aded with substantial surface rust as appears in the photos. There is rust through at the bottom of both front fenders, ll other panels are reasonably sound. The original wood bed is deteriorated but still in place under the steel diamond plate sheet that was installed by the original owner.

The interior is in relatively good condition. The bench seat needs to be reupholstered. The dash contains an aftermarket radio that is functional, he original radio delete plate is inculded. Lights, eater and gauges are functional. The water temperature gauge works intermittently. Glass is scratched in placesbut unbroken. Included are the original owner’s manual and paperwork/receipt file.

All in all, good sound vehicle for daily use or restoration.

The truck is listed at no reserve. It is for sale locally. The listing may be removed upon prior sale. Please contact me with any questions. Good luck with bidding.

Thank you.
