Chevrolet Corvette 1964 Description
1964 Chevy Corvette Roadster327/300hpCE Block4 SpeedSilver Blue ExteriorBlack Leather InteriorKnock Off WheelsNOS Side ExhaustPower BrakesPower WindowsAuxillary Hard TopNut and Bolt Frame Off Restoration of a NO-HIT, erfect frame and birdcage corvette. completed in 2008, bout 8,000 road miles since restoration. Still shows fantastic!
I am a Corvette enthusiast and collector. There is so many things about a mid year Corvette that are candidly quite frightening. Even a car guy without extensive knowledge of mid year Corvettes can miss.
First off, his car is a No-Hit car. Meaning this car was never is any type of accident and has all of the original bonding strips in place. This is huge for resale insofar as it is very difficult to properly repair one of these cars once they are hit, fter all, hey are fiberglass, nd repairs are visible from the back and create weak points, hat will stress crack over the years.
Secondly, et's talk about the frame. The 63-82 Corvette frames rust, he vast majority have had frame repairs. The reason being is the frame acts as a sacrificial anode against the body. In lay mans terms, he body cannot rust, herefore rust accelerates on the frame. Add to that, he corvette uses a fully boxed frame, hat was not coated from the inside from the factory. A breeding ground for rust, hey rust from the inside out. This car always had a rust free frame, hich was acid dipped and epoxy coated, t is issue free frame.
Next, ever buy a mid year Corvette with the original body bushings. They are a nightmare to replace and more often than not leaving you repairing the bird cage, hich is very difficult. A average bushing job usually turns into a frame off restoration. You'd be amazed at what you uncover.
The last big issue is the birdcage. The birdcage is the metal skeleton of the car, ep, t's not all fiberglass holding her together. It's very difficult to properly inspect a mid year birdcage. requires removal of kick panels, eady body point access panels, oroscopes, ct. This car has a perfect birdcage and is issue free.
In summation, ou might find a less expensive Corvette, ut what secrets is it hiding? Frame repairs? Rusted birdcage? has it been glued back together? It takes all day to properly inspect one of these cars.
When you find one that is RIGHT, ike this, ou have to jump on it. It looks great with the knock off wheels and NOS side exhaust, ranted, hese options were not available in 64, ut look great and cost about $6,000 to add. So, f you were going to buy one, lan on spending 6 grand if you want it to look like this one.
Everything is new or rebuilt on this car. She fires right up, uns great. Drives perfect. No issues, verything works. Just hop in and enjoy your investment quality Corvette.
