Chevrolet Bel Air/150/210 1955 Description
We sell a whole lot of Tri-Five Chevys like this pretty 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air hardtop. Why? Because their classic looks never go out of style, hey're easy to modify and typically run and drive like modern cars, nd a lot of folks grew up with fond memories of cars from the '50s. In fact, f I had to name the perfect hobby car, t might be something just like this.Two-tone paint jobs looked great in 1955 and still look fantastic today, tribute to the quality of the Chevy's design. This car was treated to some high-quality work during its rejuvenation, ut it respected the original design. That means no chopping, o cutting, o shaving, ut plenty of attention paid to things like gaps and finish quality. It's the details on a car like this that make it stand out (well, hat and the beautiful cobalt blue and white pearl paint), nd when it catches your eye, here's nothing on it that will disappoint you. The doors fit well, he line around the trunk lid is even, nd the brightly polished stainless side trim between the doors and quarter panels fits so exactly that it looks like one single piece. Sure, t has some signs of age and use (you'll note a Power Tour decal proudly displayed on its windows), ut this car is still a favorite that will continue to attract attention for years to come Getting a car to look like this also requires a sizable commitment to the chrome shop, nd all the brightwork is in exceptionally good shape, articularly the California 1-piece bumpers that are so highly sought by builders today. The interior was given a freshening at the same time, ut it makes no pretense about being period-correct and is so much the better for it. Comfortable power buckets with tan upholstery look like they came from a high-end late model car, et look right at home in the totally revamped '55 Bel Air interior. More custom handiwork shows in the matching door panels, hich are a bit discolored but in otherwise good condition. Custom gauges fit neatly in the original dash, ramed by a fat Grant GT steering wheel that's on a tilt steering column. Vents for the A/C system were neatly installed under the dash and there's an AM/FM/CD stereo system in the center. The nicely finished trunk offers more tricks, ike the custom molded carpet and a spare tire cover that keeps things looking tidy. The engine is a 350 cubic inch Chevy V8 with an Edelbrock carb and intake plus lots of chrome. Get your sunglasses, ecause this engine bay sparkles! Chrome in the usual places, ome custom painted accessories, nd an easy-access look make this a great highway cruiser. The real story is a little deeper, ecause this car was built atop a 1975 Chevrolet Chevelle frame, o it has an upgraded coil suspension and disc brakes. The 350 is backed by a TH350 3-speed automatic transmission, o it cruises effortlessly and the 10-bolt rear is rugged enough to eliminate breakage fears. Built for the road, he chassis is mostly satin black paint for easy maintenance and short-tube headers feed a custom Flowmaster exhaust system with oval tips just under the rear bumper. Chevy Rally wheels look right wearing beefy 215/65/15 front and 235/60/15 BFGoodrich radials all around, hich give the car a bit of a rake.Just like all the others, his Bel Air won't last long. Someone will quickly realize that this is as good as motoring gets, no-compromises cruiser that does everything well. If that someone is you, all today!
