Chevrolet Silverado 1500 1990 Description
Hello fellow ebayers! Today I'm listing my bad ass 1990 Chevy Silverado Single Cab Stepside Shortbed. Contrary to the AZ plates. this has always been a Southern California truck. as proven by the AutoCheck report listed above in the ebay hosted pics. Following the 70+ huge pics below. I've written a full description telling everything I know about the truck. including why it has AZ plates. So if you like what you see here. make sure to scroll to the bottom and read my description. For those of you who like it short and sweet. here are the bullet points:1990 Chevy Silverado Single Cab Stepside Shortbed87. 234 miles. verified in the AutoCheck reportOriginal paint with no accidents. again verified in AutoCheck report5. 7L 350 c. i. engine that's running strongAutomatic transmission that shifts crisply and cleanly through the gearsA/C - compressor and blower work but needs a freon chargePower steering. brakes. windows. and door locks - all in working orderMatching set of 31" x 10. 5" Mickey Thompson mudders with only a small amount of tread remainingNo longer California smog compliant. so please . NO in-state bidders! The truck is a 49 state vehicle now. Don't let the Arizona plates fool you. this has been a 100% Southern California truck from day one. as verified by the attached AutoCheck report. I bought it right here in the greater Palm Springs area . in the town of La Quinta. to be exact. It's only had the AZ plates and title since January of this year. Why? The man I bought it from said that he had the exhaust system modified because he wanted it to sound as tough as it looks. The result is a reasonably loud but not overly obnoxious rumble that actually sounds pretty damn cool. With these exhaust modifications there was zero chance it would pass the strict CA smog test. so he simply registered it at his vacation home in Arizona. where there are no ridiculously overbearing smog laws. The date on the clean AZ title shows 1/20/2015. Since I'm not keeping it. I won't be spending the money necessary to return the exhaust system to again meet CA smog requirements. so the only caveat on this auction is that it is NOT open to California buyers. I'm sorry. but please . if you live in California. do NOT bid on this truck. I expect it will go back east to a guy who's always wanted a clean bodied. rust free. original stepside and is finally ready to make it happen. The truck is bad ass as it sits right now. but it has so much potential for customization. It's never been hit so it would require virtually no bodywork. allowing you to spend your budget on the stuff that makes it super cool. The previous owner told me that the water pump had recently blown. spraying rusty water all over that area of the engine. You probably saw evidence of it in a few of the engine pics. He did. of course replace the water pump. and depending on how the auction goes. I may pop to have the engine steam cleaned before delivery. The paint is original to the truck and. while it still has a nice shine to it. there are many scratches and plenty of nicks and chips. They don't show up very well at all in the pics. but they're there. Clearly this was a work truck for at least one of its owners. The bed alone indicates that. Were I to keep it. I wouldn't care about the paint scratches but I would have the bed Rhino-lined. for sure. The fiberglass at the bottom of the left rear stepside and a hand-sized indention above the driver's door handle are the only real physical issues on the body. The interior shows relatively well. but it is original and by no means perfect. OK. that's about all I know. so here's the bottom line: this is a well used 25 year old truck that looks slightly better in pictures than in person. If you suffer from Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. are a perfectionist or are simply prone to having unrealistic expectations. this is not the truck for you. Please save us both the headache and do not bid. If you're a sensible. realistic guy who has always wanted one of these and understands and accepts its imperfections. then this IS the truck for you. Bid to win and grab it while you can because you know solid examples of these stepside shorties just don't grow on trees! Thanks for checking out my auction and have a great day!
