Chevrolet Other 1965 Description

1965 Chevrolet C10 Built for show & go and currently in Meguiar’s latest catalog with an upcoming feature in Custom Classic Trucks. The subject of a recent extensive frame-off Resto-Mod style restoration this 1965 Chevrolet C10 Fleetside Custom Cab shortbed as verified by the buildsheet was ordered new by Chase Chevrolet in Stockton. California. and built at the nearby San Jose plant. The truck spent most of its life located in California’s arid Central Valley before it was sold to its second owner in Southern California. The second owner daily-drove the truck for several years in its cherry original rust-free condition before deciding to build (with professional help) the customized classic truck of his dreams. The truck was disassembled completely down to the bare frame. and the chassis was sent out for media blasting. Upon return the chassis was painted inside and out with a special semi-gloss black chassis enamel. and then reassembled with premium grade suspension components. The stock front drum brakes and spindles were upgraded with disc brakes and 2 ½-inch forged drop spindles. Supplementing the truck’s handling and ride new front and rear drop coil springs and new drop shocks were installed at each corner. For rear braking the stock rear drum brakes were discarded in favor of disc brakes. A Corvette dual master-cylinder equipped with a power booster completes the ’65 Fleetside’s 4-Wheel power disc brake system. Fully-polished American Racing Torque-Thrust II 5-lug wheels are shod with speed-rated Firestone wide-profile radial tires. Under the hood is a GM Performance ZZ4 engine that displaces 383 cubic-inches. and produces 425–horsepower. To handle the ZZ4’s healthy output there’s a beefed TCI Turbo-Hydro 350 Streetfighter automatic transmission coupled to a heavy-duty GM rearend. To improve safety and handling while extending the ’65 Fleetside’s driving range the stock in-cab gas tank has been eliminated. and replaced with a large-capacity rear mounted aluminum tank. A rear-mount electric fuel pump supplies a 4-barrel carburetor tucked under a ‘70 Z-28 Camaro dual-snorkel air-cleaner. Fashioned after a ’65 Corvette Stingray rare color combination the C10’s interior and original bench seat is custom upholstered in red Ultraleather with a matching red ’64 Impala SS steering wheel perched on a Flaming River tilt steering column. On the outside the pearlescent Indigo Blue urethane finish turns pure black in the shade. Convenience options include Power Steering. Power Brakes. AM/FM stereo with concealed speakers and custom installed Vintage Air Gen IV electronic servo air-conditioning. It should be noted this truck is a fresh build with less than 900 miles since a complete top quality restoration. It has already garnered an appearance in Meguiar’s 2013 catalog. and has been photographed for an upcoming major feature in Custom Classic Trucks. It drives great. has no squeaks or rattles and will not disappoint!
