Chevrolet Silverado 2500 1987 Description
I'm listing my 1987 V20 Silverado 3/4 ton pickup for sale. If you are viewing this ad then you know this is a hard to find unicorn of a truck. Last year for the square body style, irst year of fuel injection. Rust Free and Solid 87 4x4. This truck has never been restored and has survived beautifully for the last almost 30 years. These 1987's are very sought after and it is very rare to find a 4x4 in this shape. A sound investment. Aviation Mechanic owned from new until present. Significant documented history and maintenance schedule. I looked for a long time for a 1987 Silverado before finding this one locally. It is a Washington truck since new and is rock solid and runs excellent! I have included a picture of the truck when it was bought new as well as the heavy documentation at the bottom of the ad. Clear title in my name. -Engine/Transmission/Suspension: This truck runs excellent. It sounds healthy with the flowmaster exhaust and runs great. I've had a few square body trucks over the years and this one has more power than those. It shifts great and the fuel injection makes it a joy to drive. Engine and transmission are stock. Engine compartment is very clean and looks great. The truck had a 6 inch tough country lift done about 2,000 miles ago. It also had new 17 inch Mickey Thompson Wheels and Tires done at the same time. Tires are like new and the suspension is tight. The steering wheel could be centered better than it is. I may take it in for an alignment/wheel centering before auction ends. Firestone helper springs and new air bags. I just changed the oil today and installed a Bosch filter with Lucas additive. -Interior: Trucks interior has survived well for the age. The only piece in the interior that is not original is the headliner. I just had it redone a few months ago and it looks sharp. The carpet, oor panels, isors, nd seat are in good shape and original. I pulled the carpet back on the passenger side so you can see how clean the floors are in this truck. All gauges minus the clock work. Both gas tanks work, eater works, /C works but, eeds to be charged as it doesn't blow cold. Ash tray and cigar lighter have never been used. Glove box retains SPID. The dash pad does have some cracks. -Paint/Body: Most importantly this truck is rock solid and rust free with all original panels. This is a true West Coast survivor. This truck is mostly original paint. Some documentation shows one bedside was resprayed under warranty when the truck was new in 1987. I had the passenger bedside resprayed since I owned it due to the clear coat peeling these era GM vehicles experienced. Overall I would say the truck is 75% original paint and while not show quality, xtremely presentable and turns heads everywhere. Rockers, ab corners, loors, oor bottoms, enders etc. are rust free. One of the cleanest square body trucks I have ever seen. The bed was lightly used. No dents and I have contemplated having it resprayed and making it look mint. Bumpers are in nice shape. Overall I would say the truck is in very nice shape for a 1987 but, he paint does have some wear as would be expected. I have taken over 100 pictures ad I have 2 videos I can email or text. Truck will be sold as is, his is not a show truck but, very nice survivor. Only reason for selling is I ordered a 2016 Dodge Ram. I will help with loading or meeting your shipper. Deposit must be sent in 24 hours unless paid in full within 3 days.
