This 1967 L79 Coupe is a numbers matching 2012 Arizona NCRS Regional Top Flight winner and has undergone a nut and bolt frame off restoration that was completed in March of 2012. The no expense spared restoration was performed by Thomas Kumiska of TKO restorations in Tucson, Z. For those that might not be familiar with his work he spends his spare time as an NCRS Master Judge and is more than familiar with the C2 Corvette.

This is a 3 owner car with the first owner having had the car from 1967-1972, he second owner, founding NCRS member owned the car from 1972 until I acquired it in January of 2007. My objective when buying the car was to find an example that would make a good candidate for a complete restoration, nd to take it through the NCRS process.

For those not familiar with the National Corvette Restorers Society or NCRS, he NCRS was founded in order to insure that Corvettes bearing the title “original” truly meet that standard. Since its inception in the 1970’s the NCRS has worked to insure that these fine automobiles find their way back to the condition in which their original owners found them on the showroom floor at the time of purchase. The difference between the NCRS and other organizations claiming to “verify” these cars is the rigorous judging process that takes place to verify each and every component on the car and its function. These judging events take more than an hour and a half per car with teams of 4-6 people working together to complete the task.

For those already familiar with the NCRS process, he scoring numbers for each category are listed below:

Operations: 748 out of a possible 750

Interior: 758 out of a possible 758

Exterior: 969 out of a possible 1020

Mechanical: 1166 out of a possible 1240

Chassis: 672 out of a possible 700

Total points: 4308 out of a possible 4510. The car scored a 95.7 percent to earn its Top Flight award.

It was my preference to leave many original items on the car vs. replacing them with reproduction parts because I firmly believe that something is only original once. The judging process allows points for both originality and condition and this car retains many original interior parts to include door panels, eats, ixtures etc. The exterior has been refinished to an extremely high quality with modern finishes yet it retains the proper 1967 “look” in all respects. The chassis on the car is almost perfect with the only errors being very easily fixable and at little to no cost. There are still quite a few “cheap” points to be had to bring the car further up the NCRS ladder if someone chooses to do so.

At this time I am not interested in trades of any kind, or am I looking for help in selling this car so NO AGENTS!

Buyer reserves the right to cancel the auction at time and car is for sale locally and via other avenues. Car is sold as is, here is and is a used car.
