Chevrolet C/K Pickup 1500 1984 Description
I have for sale my pride and joy and project for the last 3 years. This truck started out life as a low mileage rare 6.2 diesel shortbox. I had a frame off restoration done on the pickup 3 years ago. At that time I had new cab corners put on it. Box was rust free from texas. the entire frame and underside of the truck was then done with bedliner along with the firewall for sound deadening. The paint is victory red ppg base clear. Truck has zero rust. I put all new poly energy body mounts. Installed steering gear box apron fix. boxed the frame from front shock mounts to rear cab cross member. I got a 14 volt full floater axle that I put all new axle bearings, eals, tuds, rums, rake hardware cylinders etc. Rear axle ratio is 3.73 which is an excellent ratio for the 47rh and 285/70/17 tires. Front axle has all new joints, ie rod ends, teering stabilizer, heel bearings, eals, arn lockouts, ew rotors, rake lines, roportioning valve, aster cylinder. The front axle does need to have ratio changed to match 14 bolt I believe it is a 3.23. That being said the front driveline is out yet and will need to be lengthened to accommodate for the longer 47rh and transfercase change.Has the bulletproof np205 cast iron all gear transfer case. linkage will need to be put on yet. Interior is in very good shapehas original carpet, ew headliner.Drivers side of the seat is torn I had intentions of putting newer body style seat with arm rest in vehicle. Transmission shifts great.Have performance derale transmission cooler with electric fan remotely located. For those of you that don't know the 47rh is fully hydraulic minus overdrive and lockup which I have done via toggle switches. This can be done via hobbs pressure switches if future owner doesn't want to manually control. Unit is lifted via rough country 2.5 spring lift.Front springs are custom to accommodate the extra weight.I have a small fortune into accessories on the truck they include ici bed caps, utco bed rails, ccess tonneau cover luvurne stainless mud flaps, ltra 17" wheels. Deep tinted glass.New wheel arch moldings, ail lights from LMC. Luvurne 8" drop rear bumper. 4" mbrp exhaust with 5" stainless tip.I'm sure I'm missing something on the chassisside. Now onto the heart of this truck. Engine is from a 1995 Dodge Ram 2500. I'm a master certified ase diesel mechanic for a freightliner dealership and came across this engine witha bad #6 hole.Block was decked, ains, am journals line bored.Crank turned, rod refurbished, ntirely new bottom end.Arp rod bolts, ew oil pump, il cooler, iston cooler nozzles, earings.Killer dowel pin fixed. Cylinder head machined, alve job etc. New oem stock nozzles. Have the paperwork from engine work. The p-7100 was sent to Beemer diesel to get rebuilt where it received new governor housing, nd some calibrating. For those of you that want a drag pickup this is not the truck for you. It has an excellent foundation with the sought after p pump and could be altered to do sobut I wanted reliability so I returned it basically to stock. Installed 2nd genradiator with Maradyne performance electric fan. I had intentions of putting a 2nd fan on it but have found that fan cools truck without any issues. Fan is set up on a switch at this time but is wiredup to come on automatically as well. I parted ways with the dodge accessory mount which would have required notching the frame ( not ideal in my opinion) I ordered the midmount bracket from cummins with a ford L-8000 sanden ac compressor has brand new 24si alternator. Ac is not in working order would need to mount condenser and get some lines made to function. 2nd gen dodge intercooler is tucked in modified core support and is very clean and isolated with oem dodgeisolators. Original crossmember is gone and has new fabbed crossmember which can be unbolt to remove oil pan etc. OEM Chevrolet engine pads are still intact. Has energy poly engine mounts. Truck drives awesome with no wondering etc. I have spent a great deal of time making this swap look professional and correct. So to elaborate this isn't 100% done there are still some loose ends that need tied up theyare as follows.... Front seat has tear, egear front diff to match back and install front driveline. 4x4 linkage isn't connected.Fuel gauge is inop, ondenser and lines for ac to work.Transmission shifter linkage needs dialed in ( it goes through all the gears fine. Does hold park etc but the travel doesn't match the indicator to make it perfect like I would like. I'm not out to fool anyone here. If you have zero feedback please give me ajingle before bidding, tfour zero two-910-threeoneone3.This pickup isnear perfectand I love it but is only 95% done. Needs the finishing touches but I don't have the time for it now and is impracticalfor a guy with a family andI'm in the process of building a shop. I'm sure im forgetting something and will updateadd as I recall.I have a binder with over $15,000 of receipts for conversion alone, hich doesn't include my time. All parts are readily available and are either for 1995 Ram 2500 or 1984 k20 for those of you concerned this conversion has one off parts. All of your local parts stores have everything fromradiator hoses to belts, ower steering pump etc.... My reserve price is a fraction of the cost I have invested into this. You can't beat the old square body Chevy's and with a cummins to boot how can you go wrong. Good luck and happy bidding.
