Chevrolet Other 1986 Description

Selling AS IS at BEST OFFER.

This van was running, at least when I had to move it. I didn’t know not to use ethanol gas in the dam thing when it ran out of gas. It would turn over and start but would not stay running at an idle. Tried gas cleaners, carb cleaners and starting fluid. Still no good, just would not idle. What I didn’t know till I guess it was too late is there’s a small leak in the cab ceiling. I didn’t know this till I had been working on it to get it running right again.

I had the carb exposed as I was putting starter fluid in the carb to get it to run. As mentioned I didn’t know about the leak at the time so just closed the doors. Next day after a rain found water on the engine and interior. It wasn’t much and didn’t think much of it at the time till it wouldn’t start or turn over. Not sure that's what caused the lock up but now the engine is locked.

A friend of mine that is a mechanic checked it out. We tried putting diesel fuel into the carb (after taking out the plugs) to try to loosen the engine to get it to turn. We let it sit a few days. He came back, checked the engine more and then crawled under the engine and found there is a hole in the oil pan. Obviously something blew. So now it doesn’t run and will have to be towed and the engine rebuilt.
I have the title (clean and clear) and need to get this stupid thing off the property. I'd hate to have to junk it as I believe it still has value, at least to someone, if for no other reason than maybe parts or storage.

You might wonder why I would be asking at least $1000 after all these problems. Well, besides parts alone are worth 1K, probably. Another way to look at it is from the storage point of view. This van is 14.4 in length, 6.3 wide and 6.4 high inside. Similar size storage from PODs (for instance) 12x8x8 would cost around $200 a month plus cost of moving it. If you needed it long term (year or more) it would cost around $2400 per year (give or take).

So, if you need permanent storage on your property this could be it. WITH the option of getting the blown engine fixed when you need to move it. At least once fixed and running it would become a permanent option for storing and moving your stuff. Just an idea but again parts alone are worth this price. Also please note, this is a dually, 4 wheels in the back so 6 wheels total.

I'm hoping to find it a good home/job or someone that could use this thing "for something". So, please, someone help this poor "old" thing and give it a good home.
If you need further information please let me know via email. Thanks.
