Chevrolet Corvette 1970 Description
1970 Mulsanne Blue Corvette Coupe, 4 speed, pwr windows, original A/C car (not currently installed.) Originally equipped with a numbers-matching 350 engine, now has a professionally built 383 Stroker engine by C&D Performance. Original engine comes with car. Selling to help finance a new house, but between my deployments with Air Force and the recent birth of my first child, I've put less than a 1000 miles on the car in the last few years. A ground-up restoration is nearly complete. I have over $21,600 in receipts for a professional restoration by Corvette Specialties of Maryland, Inc. This doesn't include over $8500 for the new motor, over $1000 for new chrome, and over $2000 in recent parts that have yet to be installed, including a BeCool radiator, foam for new seats, a Rockford Fosgate subwoofer, Corbeau seatbelts, new weatherstripping, new door handles, trim, etc. In the last ten years I've owned the car, I've spent somewhere north of $35,000 on parts and labor, NOT including the price of the car itself! If it wasn't for the fact I can't drive it when I'm deployed and I can't put a child's car seat in it when I'm actually home, the car would be staying in my garage.A short non-inclusive list of the major work done:
New Front and Rear suspensionRebuilt original 4-speed transmissionRebuilt steering columnNew upgraded 3" exhaustBrand new carpets, insulation, door panels, trim, and T-tops by Al Knock InteriorsNew wheels & tiresNew chrome rear bumpers & front 'bumperettes'New Alpine radio and speakers
383 Stroker Engine (415hp/485 ft/trq):
Forged Eagle H-Beam Connecting Rods & CrankForged PistonsComp Hyd roller CamEdelbrock Air Gap Intake & CarbMoroso Oil PanHolley Electric Fuel Pump
The only non-functional pieces are the clock and the vacuum for the headlights & wipers. The restoration is not complete; in addition to the above-mentioned parts not yet installed, the car needs a couple minor trim pieces to be perfect, as well as new seats for the included seat foam. The paint is the definition of a '10 footer.' It looks fantastic from 10 feet as seen in the pictures, but up close has a few flaws, including some chips/nicks and scratches. It's the correct Mulsanne Blue done ~15 years ago. I call it a 7.5/10, and I was planning on having it redone once I had the weatherstripping completed. The car handles like new and is scary fast & sounds spectacular, especially with the T-tops off and the rear glass out. I've never driven it in rain in the last 10 years and it make a great daily driver in the sunshine.
Winning bidder must make a PayPal deposit of $500 within 48 hours of auction end. Cashiers check must be received before the car is released for pickup or delivery.
