Chevrolet Bel Air/150/210 1956 Description
We are selling our 1956 Chevrolet 210 4 door. It has ICE COLD Vintage Air AC. front pd brakes. rear drum brakes. raised white letter BFG with Cragers. Vintage Audio stereo with iPod plug in glove box. This stereo will also accommodate a 6 disk CD changer if you so desire. I am including the original 15" rims and the original front drums and lines. These were all in good condition. we just wanted power brakes and Cragers. So here is everything to know about this classic beauty. the good and the less than good. What needs attention. To drive and enjoy this car. it actually needs nothing. There are several spots in the paint that can use some TLC and you will see them in the pictures. An area on the roof that has been covered to avoid rust. and area right behind the hood ornament that has bubbled (and no there is no Bondo under the bubbling. it's solid). an area just above the rear window that is weak. There are some scratches shown in the pics as well like one on the rear bumper. Otherwise there are some chips and scratches from daily driving. but this is not a $100. 00 show car and we do drive it. The passenger side rear window needs to have the slide greased as it will not roll down. I have had this done on the other windows. it's an easy process for anyone who has done it before. I think the shop I used charged me $50 to take it apart. lube the slides and put it back together when they did the front passenger side. The other windows work fine. The mileage is thought to be original but I did replace the speedometer last year at almost exactly 100. 00 miles due to the needle bouncing and making a lot of noise. It now works perfectly once again. The mileage will change as we do drive this almost daily if the weather is nice. On to what is really great about this car. Overall. even with the imperfections. as you can see in the pics this car is super sharp. When I had the AC installed I put in a brand new radiator. Last summer this car idled in the driveway on a 105* day with the interior making ice cubes and the temp gauge in the middle of the "NORMAL" so no issues there. The Vintage Air works with servos on the original controls so. other than the vents. you have an original look. The vents actually look fine as you can see in the interior pics. For anyone who has done any homework. the AC system alone costs $4. 00 not installed. This car has PA State inspection until 8/2015 and I'll tell you it needs nothing for inspection. This is not an Antiqued tagged trailer princess that's never seen a garage! Tires are great. I did the new PD brakes on the front last year and the drums in the rear are fine too. Of course all the lighting works as it should. Car also has rear air shocks. done right. Kit to attach the shocks to the frame. not the trunk pan as some folks do so no hitting a bump and having the shocks poke through the trunk!! I have these shocks at about 65 pounds which makes a nice rake and rides great! We also installed a new windshield wiper motor before we had the AC professionally installed. Take a look inside and you will see that the interior is solid. It shows a little wear. but nothing I would think would need to be changed unless you so desire. Speedometer and odometer work. radio and heating/cooling controls all need nothing. Seats are not torn and carpet on floors is fine. Headliner is not sagging. Under the hood resides an early 70's 350 with a mild cam. No preflight instructions. just turn the key and go. It is mated with a turbo 350 trans. If you see the underside of the car (in pics) you will find that this car was blasted and sprayed with undercoat as well. This car also had a new driveline installed when I bought it as the former owner had one that was too short and was causing the rear to leak. All that was repaired before I put the car on the road. As you continue to look under the car. the steering arms etc. are all in great shape. When I say this car needs nothing mechanically. I mean N O T H I N G. I would drive this car across the country tomorrow. My wife is the primary driver of this car so whatever work I didn't do. I told the shop no shortcuts. I didn't want her stranded somewhere away from home. Look at my years on eBay and my 100% positive feedback. My feedback is not just 100% positive for the last 12 months. I have NEVER had a negative feedback and this auction won't lead to one either. Please ask any and all questions you may have. I'll answer everything I can. I'll be happy to take more detailed pics of any areas of concern etc. Feel free to come look at this car in person. I would expect for this kind of money. you would like to kick a tire before buying and I don't blame you!! I'm not sponsoring joyrides. but a serious buyer would be more than welcome to drive this beauty. Remember: This auction is for this great car. 4 original 15" rims. and the front drum brakes and lines. I reserve the right to end the auction early as the vehicle is for sale locally. My plan for payment and delivery is as follows:Immediate $200 non refundable deposit via PayPal is due within 24 hours of auction end or immediately upon Buy It Now. Then. if the car is to leave immediately. cash for the balance. If not cash. I will take a personal check. or cashiers check. IF paying with either check method. I will write you a bill of sale when the check is received. There will then be a waiting period of several days until my bank can confirm the check is authentic at which time we will proceed with the title transfer. Check clearing generally takes 2 to no more than 3 days. I am not responsible for bank delays. but I have never known the clearing process to take more than 3 days for a legitimate check. Please keep in mind that Capital One does offer a person to person loan blank check option if you would like to finance. Price is picked up at my location in Shippensburg. PA area (17257) however I will be happy to accommodate your car transporter to come to my location as well. I have a flexible schedule so pickup should not be a problem. If you can make it here to purchase and do tag work. there is a tag place 15 minutes from my house. Buy it and DRIVE IT HOME!!GOOD LUCK and THANKS FOR LOOKING!!On May-04-15 at 10:32:01 PDT. seller added the following information: We are selling our 1956 Chevrolet 210 4 door. It now works perfectly once again. The engine and trans are much newer than the 100. 00 miles on the odometer. but I do not know exactly what mileage is on either. What I do know is that the engine runs fine. requires no added oil between changes and the transmission runs and shifts as it should. (Come drive this if you are serious!!) The mileage will change as we do drive this almost daily if the weather is nice. On to what is really great about this car.
