MotoeXotica Classic Cars is excited to present this big block powered and aggressively stanced 1962 Chevrolet Bel-Air Custom Two-door Sedan for your review.
Under the hood is a 409 CID Turbo-Fire V-8 backed by a four-speed manual transmission, completed with period correct shifter. That hood, and all of the other exterior panels are red with a new red interior to match. This is another Chevrolet full-sized muscle racer, with no power steering, power brakes or air-conditioning. Car has four air bags to improve its handling and ride control. The controls are mounted in the glovebox and this Bel-Air also sports Corvette Z06 cross-drilled front brake rotors!
It’s red paint and related trim is in excellent shape, with only minor blemishes visible on the driver’s side door. The glass panels are in very good order, with just some slight scratches showing on the rear window. The car’s lights are complete, intact and clear. This Bel-Air rolls on Z-rated Falken FK452 tires, 245/40ZR18 in front and 245/40ZR20 in back, surrounding Rocket racing wheels. The body panels are all straight, the engine bay is quite tidy and the battery appears new.
Inside, the red bench seats are in excellent order, as is the matching carpet, the contrasting, white, headliner, the red metal dashboard, the two-spoke steering wheel, door panels, mirrors and shifter, which is capped by a white ball. This car is a radio delete model.
For 1962, all sheet metal except the door panels was changed. Overall length was stretched slightly to 209.6 inches. The four-door Sport Hardtop was no longer offered in the Bel-Air series. Standard engines remained the same as the previous year. A new 327 CID V-8 was offered in addition to the giant (for the time) 409 CID V-8 with the dual four-barrel carburetor setup. All wagons that year were four-door models and separate distinctions for wagons were dropped. All models were Biscayne, Bel-Air or Impala series. Full carpeting returned as standard equipment on all 1962 Bel-Air models for the first time in several years. The Bel-Air Sport Coupe was in its last year of U.S. production, and its roofline was a carryover from the 1961 hardtop coupe.
Competitors to this Bel-Air in 1962 included Ford’s Galaxie, and Plymouth’s Belvedere.
This car is currently located at our facility in St. Louis, Missouri. Current mileage on the odometer shows 20,255 miles. It is sold as is, where is, on a clean and clear title. GET OUT AND DRIVE!!!
