1986 marked the first year back to the Indy 500 as a Pace Car since 1978. 1986 was also the first year back as a convertible for the Corvette. All 1986 Corvettes came with the Indy sticker package, but only convertibles, and only YELLOW convertibles where actually used as Pace Cars for the Indy 500. GM only produced 704 yellow convertible Corvettes in 1986 in total. Corvette collectors all view the YELLOW convertible Corvette and the only true 1986 Indy Pace car due to the fact only YELLOW cars actually ran on the track that year.

This is not a show car but a nice driver quality. Put the top down and cruise around town. Body and paint are nice. good solid drive train,car runs out nice, A/C works,power windows work.

Recently replaced/repaired parts - Convertible top, front seat covers,rebuilt a/c compressor,serpinetine belt and new belt tensioner, 3 relays. Does have some minor issues right side headlight door works off and on, may be a bad headlight motor. Power antenna stoped working, still have reception. And some minor items. All in all for the price I think a good value. Car is being advertised locally( $7,995.) some pristine ones are bringing double that price. I reserve the right to end the auction when sold so don't wait till the end to bid.
