Chevrolet Camaro 1972 Description
1972 marked the demise of the SS396 Camaro. In 1972 only 970 were ever built. Mainly due to a 180 day long strike at the assembly plant. the last production year for this car was also one of the lowest production numbers. Very few original numbers matching '72 SS 396 Camaros exist today and only a handful come close to the quality of this complete restoration. It is so impressive that when executives at Chevrolet saw it they asked to borrow it to display at the Chevy Heritage Museum in Detroit. The Heritage Museum in Detroit is a very exclusive automotive museum where admission is by invitation only. Only the very finest restorations are ever displayed at the Heritage Museum as this car was. The original Heritage Museum placard that was displayed with this car is included in the sale. It is shown in the pictures along with the car. The restoration on this car was utterly meticulous. taking over 8 years to complete it was also a labor of love and passion that was not rushed. the time was taken to do everything right. The car has been restored to original OEM condition. nothing modified. It has the original numbers matching engine and TH400 transmission. It is very uniquely a column shift coupled to the TH400. It also comes with the deluxe comfort weave factory seats and factory air. Very likely the nicest example of a 1972 SS 396 Camaro existing. this is car marked the end of the big block Camaro era as EPA regulations strangled off the big block engines from production and beginning in 1973 produced Camaros that could not begin to compete with the previous years performance numbers. Here's your chance to own a real piece of American automotive history and one of the last examples of the original high performance Camaros! This car needs absolutely nothing. it runs. looks and drives like a new 1972 Camaro. Don't miss out on your chance to own a true legend - the SS 396 Camaro. act now before it's gone.
