Chevrolet Nova 1966 Description

I have owned this car since June 2015 and have now decided to sell it. I have collected a lot of history on the car and will share that history in this listing. I pride myself on being very honest and will never misrepresent anything intentionally. If you are interested and have additional questions, lease do not hesitate to contact me.

DESCRIPTION

The car is Harvest Beige in color and has the original 283cuin V8, riginal powerglide automatic transmission, actory power steering, factory dealer” air conditioning, nd PROTECTO PLATE. The car is still titled in the owner’s name since 1968. The radio does not work. The glass is good. The tires are Firestone FR721s. Spare tire and Jack appears to be original. The hubcaps have some dings in them. The paint is nice driver quality as the paint is 20-25 years old. The interior trim molding around the package tray could use some attention. There is also one slight tear on the backside of the driver seat. I have the original Owner’s Guide, he Owner Protection Plan booklet, he Custom Feature Accessory booklet, nd the plastic cover for these manual/booklets. This is a very dependable, eliable, ostly original car that is also a great driver. I have driven the car for several hundred miles, ncluding Cruizin the Coast 2015.

WORK PERFORMED SINCE I’VE OWNED THE CAR

1. Repaired air conditioning switch. Air works with original pull lever and blows ice cold

2. Replaced rear springs with single leafs as were installed originally. These were only installed about 200 miles ago, herefore the car still sets a little higher than normal in the rear. I offset this some by installing one twist-in front coil spring spacer in the front until the rear springs settle in.

3. Replaced broken emblem on the glove box and replace glove box liner

4. Rebuilt 2bbl carburetor

5. Installed new valve cover gaskets

6. Installed rubber inserts on the gas tank straps. These were left off when the new gas tank was installed as noted in the history shown later in this description.

PREVIOUS HISTORY

I talked to the previous owner on 7/9/15. At that time, he owner was 72 years of age. He and his wife bought this car in 1968 when they were living in Kansas. They purchased it from a banker as he purchased a new car every couple of years. The banker bought the car new. The previous owner purchased it from the banker for $1200 and it had approximately 12,000 miles on it. The car was purchased new in Eureka, ansas, nd I understand that the dealership is long gone.

The previous owners moved to Missouri in 1972. They retitled the car in Missouri in the 80’s. They owned this car from 1968 until May 2015. They verified that that car had never been in an accident. They described this car to me as their “baby”. After many years of minimal driving and sitting in their garage they decided to sell the car because they never drove it. They did not want to see multiple people coming over and test driving their car, o they hired a friend and paid him $500 to help them sell the car.

The car miles are accurate at approximately 145,000. The engine and tranny were rebuilt at 91,260 miles. The seats were covered, arpet replaced, nd car was repainted in the original color approximately 25 years ago. This was sometime between 1990 and 1995. The upholstery was done in Topeka, ansas. When the car was repainted, hey discovered some rust on the tops of the two front fenders. The owner did not want the fenders repaired so he had them replace both front fenders at that time. The previous owner told me that he was almost positive that the car never saw rain since the repaint and was kept under cover in the garage.

In 2014 the previous owner smelled gas in his garage. The gas tank of the car was leaking. He had the gas tank replaced by a shop in Springfield, O and had some muffler work done at the same time.

After the previous owner’s friend took the car away to sell it, he friend removed some carpet that the owner had placed in the trunk many years ago. Underneath the carpet on the passenger’s side of the car, here as a small rust area discovered due to moisture collected under the carpet. I’m not sure if this was surface rust or other, ut it was corrected and I can’t tell what was done. The previous owner could not tell me because it was done after it left his house for the last time.
