Chevrolet Bel Air/150/210 1956 Description

PRO STREET CAR: 1956 CHEVROLET 210 COLOR: RED

This 1956 body was restored from a rust-free car, tripped to bare metal and painted. All glass is new, tainless is in show-quality, olished condition, nd all chrome items have been plated or replaced.

The interior is not finished due to this sale. I believe it is better to let the buyer decide the color and style of the interior. The rear seat has been fabricated to match the tub area and is ready to cover. The front seat is a bench-style, ustom made by GLIDE Engineering. It has a split-back seat with recliner mechanism. It is also set up for middle armrests.

All wiring including under-dash wiper system is complete. All dash gauges are in working condition. Dash area has a custom-made tilt column system with a BUDNIK steering wheel.

The trunk area is pretty much self-explanatory by looking at the photos. Undercarriage and engine modifications are so numerous that it will be difficult describing these areas, ut I’ll take a shot.

The transmission is a 4L80E Turbo 400, omputer shifter automatic with TCI computer external cooler and fan. The transmission is completely detailed to match the car. The engine started out as a 454 but is now a 526 cubic inch big block with 658 horsepower (dyno). I have the dyno sheet for verification. It has aluminum BRODIX heads, 71 BDS (blower drive service) supercharger. It has two 850 double pumper HOLLEY carburetors, ydraulic roller CROWER cam shaft, nd BOYD idlers and pulleys. The HOOKER headers have thermo-shield coating.

The undercarriage has fabricated front end with coil over shocks, ack and pinion power assist, AINLESS custom electric wiring harness, ustom exhaust (complete from heads to tailpipes) which is ceramic coated inside and out. Custom built MARK WILLIAMS racing rear end/STRANGE 10-bolt 410 gears, UN drilled BILLET axles, TRANGE Engineering ladder bar shocks in the rear. Complete rear end and other items are detailed and painted to match the car.

Some items of interest and, hould I say, uch expense are: Rack and pinion power assist, omplete digital instrumentation, ustom wiring, -wheel disc brakes, ower windows, ower disc brakes, INTAGE air conditioning, SD 6-BTM boost timing master ignition, DS linkage setup, OKAR under-the-dash emergency brake system, DS polished blower, ustom under-dash wiper system, ual vehicle speed sensor 4L80E, UDNIK steering wheel. The front tires are SINCERA Touring P205 60 15. The rear wheels are MICKEY THOMPSON Rear Legacy 15/15/5.

I have a copy of the dyno testing for the engine, opies of all engine work and expenses (I have over $22,000 of receipts for engine work not counting the initial cost of the engine).

This car has approximately $80,000 in high-quality, rofessional work. I did not have the work done, nd I didn’t put that amount out, o I don’t expect that amount to be recovered and therefore have set my reserve at a reasonable price. I know there are some of you out there contemplating building a pro-street car, nd others may have started already. If so, his is your chance to save a lot of money. Every item in this restoration was given careful thought and was professionally done; hence air conditioning, ower windows, he consideration of the GLIDE Engineering front seat. Another reason for the buyer finishing the interior is that I believe the car should have a roll bar. The car is extremely fast.

I will consider trades of 1955, 956 and 1957 Chevys – all models -- maybe plus some Chevelle models. If you feel like my photos are not representative, et me know. I can do more photos for serious buyers. My ad is limited to 24 photos.

I HAVE LISTED THIS '56 BEFORE FOR A MUCH HIGHER PRICE. I AM NOW LISTING THE CAR AT A BREAK-EVEN PRICE! THIS IS A GREAT RUNNING AND GREAT APPEARING CAR; FULLY RESTORED; JUST INTERIOR NOT FINISHED. THE QUALITY OF WORK AND ENGINEERING ON THE BODY AND UNDERCARRIAGE IS ALONE WORTH MY CURRENT ASKING PRICE. EVEN WITHOUT ITS ENGINE THE CAR WOULD BE WORTH $37,500.

IF YOU DISREGARD ALL OF THE ABOVE INFORMATION AND CONSIDER THIS: THERE IS $22,000 TO $25,000 IN THE ENGINE; $20,000 MINIMUM IN THE UNDERCARRIAGE; APPROXIMATELY $6,000 IN WIRING AND INSTRUMENTATION; A MINIMUM OF $15,000 IN PAINT AND MINOR BODY WORK; THROW IN THE ORIGINAL PURCHASE PRICE OF THE CAR BEFORE WORK WAS STARTED (WOULD HAVE BEEN ABOUT $18,000); AND WHAT DO YOU HAVE - $84,000 WITHOUT COUNTING SMALL ITEMS LIKE GLASS, RIM POLISHING, EATS, HEELS, IRES, TC. JUST TRYING TO POINT OUT THAT SOMEONE IS GOING TO GET A GOOD DEAL ON THIS CAR. AS OF NOW, E HAVE 960 HITS ON THE CAR WITH 28 WATCHERS. SOME OF YOU 28 WATCHERS ARE MISSING OUT. I DO ALREADY HAVE ONE CASH OFFER AND FOUR TRADE OFFERS WHICH I HAVE DECLINED ALL. THEY WERE NOT IN MY FAVOR.
