Chevrolet Corvette 1957 Description
Is there any other classic Chevrolet Corvette more appealing to the eye than the 1957 Corvette Convertible? It’s debatable, but it’s an absolute fact that the ’57’s are just about as desirable as they get, period. ‘Red Hills Rods & Classics’ is proud to offer you this absolutely gorgeous frame-off restored 1957 Chevrolet Corvette Fuelie Convertible, finished in factory correct Cascade Green w/ White Coves wrapped around a perfect factory correct Beige interior. 1957 marked the first year that fuel injection was available on the Corvette, and 1,040 cars left the factory equipped w/ the Rochester Ramjet Fuel Injection system. ‘Road and Track’ magazine measured a 0-60 time of 5.7 seconds in one of the new ‘Fuelies’. Performance seekers were quick to spot the ‘57’s ‘Fuel-Injection’ script on the front fender coves. Boasting 1 horsepower per cubic-inch, the 1957 Corvette was nearly race-ready right off the showroom floor. This outstanding example was the recipient of a recent no expense spared frame-off restoration and the final result is nothing short of breathtaking. It has been driven less than 13 test miles since the completion of the restoration. The bodywork and paint was performed @ Troy’s Custom Body & Paint in Saint George Utah, who spent hours making sure that the car is laser straight all the way around. The beautiful Cascade Green paint looks like it’s a mile deep w/ a smooth glossy finish that has to be seen to appreciate. All of the chrome, stainless trim, grille, bumperettes, etc. are in show quality condition throughout. The tan convertible top is brand new and fits very well. She sits on factory correct 15” steel wheels w/ correct faux-spinner wheel covers wrapped w/ new BF Goodrich Silvertown P205/75/R15 radial tires. The undercarriage is as nice as the top side of the car and beautifully detailed from front to back. This ’57 Corvette Fuelie Convertible is visually stunning and is a true rolling piece of art. Open the driver’s door and you will find an all-new factory correct Beige interior done to exacting standards throughout. All of the stainless trim on the doors, door sill covers, around the gauges, etc. are new & shiny and the steering wheel is minty. All of the original gauges work perfectly, and even the original Wonderbar AM/FM radio w/ additional power amp sounds great! Please look closely at the photos of this interior to see what an excellent job they did during the restoration process. Open the hood and nestled inside the nicely detailed engine bay you will find the completely rebuilt factory correct 283/283hp Fuelie motor, wearing suffix code T1023EL (Fuel Injection/Hi-Lift Cam/Manual Transmission), topped with the factory correct Rochester ‘Ramjet’ Fuel Injection system. The motor is linked to a rebuilt factory correct 3-Speed Synchro-Mesh transmission, which feeds power to a 3.55 rear axle stamped BA, which was likely from a full-size ’57 passenger car as Chevrolet did not offer a 3.55 rear end on the '57 Corvette. The factory 3.70, 4.11 or 4.56 rear axles were a bit stout for many drivers who prefered a more street friendly gear ratio. She starts, idles, drives & performs beautifully and is an absolute blast to drive! If you don’t like attention then this is not the car for you, as there will be a huge crowd around the car within minutes anywhere you take it! This is a classic car that you can drive & enjoy to the fullest, or win First Place awards at any car show you decide to enter. Again, is there any other classic Corvette that has so much appeal? I don’t think so! Enclosed shipping is available anywhere in the world at the buyer’s expense.
