Chevrolet Bel Air/150/210 1956 Description
Please read entire ad.Up for auction. A beautiful 1956 chevy 150 Model 2 dr post. Ive owned the car for 7 years. I purchased this car from a collector as a super clean original "zero" rust car with only one repaint in its original Black color with White painted roof. It is all original sheet metal, floors, chassis. The only thing not original to the car is the fiberglass teardrop hood This is a very nice fitting hood with hinges. I sold the original hood and front bumper from the car. They are no longer available. The paint job is very nice and shows well, with a few minor scuffs and light scratches. When I purchased the car it had the original straight 6 with a powerglide transmission. This was a perfect base for the car I was looking to build. I then went forward building it into what you are viewing now. The engine I installed is a big block 468 with 4 bolt mains and a steel crank. It has a full MSD ignition-distributor, coil, and 6al ignition box. This is backed by a richmond 5 speed transmission that I purchased new and also installed a dual disc centerforce clutch. It also has a brand new 12 bolt Moser reared with 355 gears with old school M&H powder coated ladder bars. I then went on and installed a complete non-power front disk brake set up with a hurst roll control line lock and new brake lines front to rear. New frontend, bushings, balljoints etc…I spent countless hours cleaning the bottom of the floors from the rear of the front doors to the rear bumper when I installed the rear end. I took it down to bare metal then applied etching primer and epoxy satin black paint, at this time I installed a new fuel tank with a sump installed, Mallory electric fuel pump with new 1/2" steel braided fuel line. The battery is mounted in the trunk with an on /off cutout fabricated into the right side tail light reflector done cleanly so its unnoticeable. The inside of trunk still needs to be detailed. For the most part the interior is all original except for the bench seat being notched for the 5 speed installed a carpet. It came from the factory with rubber mat. new headliner installed. I fully insulated the interior with dynomat at this time. I installed 1970 chevelle seat belts in the front. I also installed an after market radio that is neatly in the glove box. I had professionally chrome plated the glove box along with the clutch pedals, and the dash is finished off with a 55 bel air bow tie insert, real Stewart Warner oil, and water pressure gauges from back in the day, and a new super sun tach…Perfect!
