Chevrolet Blazer 1971 Description
If you're looking for a head turner who can get muddy then this is your ride....we are only selling due to divorce.
Info on the truck:
Transmission is a manual, 4speed with granny low, real seal replaced in the transmission when it was purchased, I installed a new heavy duty clutch pack and throw out barring two years after purchasing the K5. The linkage was taken apart
from the clutch petal and all eyes re welded and drilled to take all slack of moving parts. The transfer case
is a NP205 gear driven case. Solid unit, nothing but service work done. No leaks. The motor is a 350
with an edlebrock 650 4 barrel carb with electric choke. Cranks well in cold weather. Not burning or leaking
oil. Keeps oil level between oil changes. No puddles under truck parked extended periods of time.
Starter rebuilt 6 months ago. 100,000 miles on the truck, miles on motor unknown. Never ran hot.
I replaced the half ton axles with fully rebuilt 3/4 ton axles. The rear axle has a Detroit Mechanical
Locker. The front axle has been rebuilt as well from the spider gears out including barrings. The
Lock in Lock out hubs have been serviced and are in great condition, they are warn lock outs.
The entire truck was disassembled when it was painted, aside from taking entire body off frame.
The body above the windshield was rusted through, professionally replaced and welded. I know its been replaced
but can't tell that it has been by looking at it. No cracks in the front windshield or peaks. There was rust at the
bottom front of the doors that was sanded and cured to kill. There is some rust bubbling up there now but just need
to be fixed again which shouldn't be an issue. The doors are solid, really good metal there to work with.
The inner fenders were replaced when painted, no other rust in the truck. The truck has factory heater no ac. I have a lever that
needs to be fixed there but is in the console to replace as well as the cigarette lighter for charging purposes.
All the interior is new, vinyl floor mat from front to rear, dash pad, door panels, rear panels to the tail gate new.
Each seal around the widows and doors installed new when painted, the seals under the fully removable top were replaced as well.
New center console, new wipers recently installed. The front seats come out of a 99 model Tahoe-6 way power heated but need to be wired, the rear seats come out of a 2004 and was the third row seat. The brackets were purchased and installed
so that you can remove the back seats just like you could the third row in the 2004 Tahoe. The rear latch was rebuilt to the hatch back widow.
A custom bumper was built to bolt on as factory front bumper, powder coated black.
Factory park lights installed in new bumper with an 8000lb warn winch high raise with brake.
The 100' cable on the winch was made by a tow truck company and is rated for a 12,000 winch with big swivel hook.
The truck is powered by a yellow top optima battery with top and side posts. The Blazer has front stabilizer shocks.
The steering has a very small amount of slack but could possibly be adjusted to correct, and the fuel gauge will need a sending unit.
Very solid truck could use as daily driver or weekend warrior.
