Chevrolet C/K Pickup 2500 1973 Description
Up for sale my much loved 73 Chevy Cheyenne Super 3/4 ton 4x4. She has had a lot of good work over the years as I had planned on keeping her forever but have moved overseas and can no longer justify her sitting around so, time to pass her on. Has had a six inch lift installed with new springs, dropsteering arm and matched shocks, no blocks. Also had all new bearings, brakes, stainless brake linesand hubs re-built. Custom heavy duty hitch and rear bumper for winch with mounting for pto but was never connected. The engine is the original 350 truck block with 2.02 double hump chevy fuely heads withoversized valves. Edelbrock duel plane, port matched, intake painted orange and holley carb. K&N air filter in stock housing and factory cold air intake, the engine was built to look stock. Has tall custom valve covers also painted orange to fit the stainless steel roller rockers. The cam is a 350hp 350 chevy cam, from the ss camaro, purchased new from Chevrolet. Has a great sounding rumpity idle always got compliments on the sound and makes huge power est. 400+ hp. Crankshaft is a steel crank from a 400 cu in chevy motor with pink rods making this a 383 stroker motor with all original chevy parts.Pistons are forged with approx. 11:1 compression. Machining and assembly by Morgans speed and marine in Wanut Creek California. All top notch work $$$. Also has a fluid damper, sfi flex plate, msd ignition, wires and timing controller. 25k since engine rebuild with no problems.
I was the third owner of this truck which spent most of its life in California. In 2009, before driving to Texas towing my boat there was a lotmore work done. The steering box was replaced. The duel saddlefuel tanks were dropped and boiled/coated one tank replaced with new sending units in both and all new fuel lines. The complete exhaust system was replaced with ceramic coated headers, crossover pipeand thrush mufflers run to the bumperwith chrome tipscut to prevent any contact with ground when off-roading. Has extreme entry/exit angles. I also restored the factory a/c with a new r134a compressor, accumulator and orifice tube, works great. New tires were fitted, windows tinted and all fluids changed. The trans was also re-built with a shift kit and custom torque converter.
Has the factory gauge pack, auto meter tach and everything works as it should. Alpine cd player in dash with fosgate 6x9 speakers and a jbl amp. The camper shell was put on just beforeit was parkedmostly to protect the truck. The body was taken down to metal treated and primed with zolotone. Unfortunately it was never painted before moving.
I left the truck with friends in Texas with the condition they could use it. About a year later he said it had to be towed back due to a transmission failure. I have not been able to check it out since but think he let the fluid get low so it may need a trans. It has been sitting around for four years now and it's time to move her on. The Pictures were taken last month and show the current condition. I have not been back to check it outbut it will likely have to be towed out for trans repair.
This has always been a great truck and has been well taken care of. The dana 60 rear axle is a locker and with the front hubs locked all 4 wheels turn. It was really great both on and off the road. I really wish I had more time to spend with it but I liveoverseas now and it's just not practical to move it here with fuel being 10 bucks a gallonand not much place to use it.Clear title is with the vehicle and in the property owners name. Happy to help new owner with any questions.
