Chevrolet Other Pickups 1949 Description
I have up for sale my 1949 Chevrolet 3800. I bought this truck 7-8 years ago, and I am the 3rd owner.I had Carquest overhaul the 216 and had them machine the rods for insert type bearings. I also had them plane the head, new valve seats, etc.
I have had the Hydraulic cylinders rebuilt that lift the bed.
The brakes work, but could use a going through. the emergency brake also works.
The radiator was rebuilt by a professional shop. The heater core needs to be repaired.
I replaced the wiring harness with a new harness from Bowtie Bits in Wichita, Ks. I also replaced the Voltage regulator at the same time.
I replaced the bed sides with new tongue and groove wood that you can see in the pics.Removing the silver nuts allow you to separate the sides from the front. The floor of the bed is original and in decent shape. I sealed it when I rebuilt the sides.
The tires are weatherchecked but in decent shape. it has 7.00-18 size tires. There is no spare, but the spare tire holder is on the truck. The knee action shocks still work and I have topped off the oil in them.I also added turn signals as you can see in the picture. I had the seat professionally rebuilt using a heavy arctic vinyl. I also replaced the headliner.
The truck is still 6 volt, and is capable of being hand cranked. The starter and generator were overhauled professionally as well. There are various spare parts included with the truck.
The truck was titled in Kansas originally to the Engine number. The Serial number from the Serial Number plate inside the driver's door is 5GSD2699
The truck is not perfect, but it is great for running errands and hauling firewood, yard debris, or going to the tractor show.On Dec-29-16 at 17:45:38 PST, seller added the following information:
Bed measures 8' wide 10' long

I have not replaced the Cardboard pieces for the doors. I put a gray headliner in. Floor is dusty. I have also not installed the wind lace that goes into the grooves on the inside of the cab.
