Chevrolet C-10 1965 Description
thanks for looking at my epic truck. Each year there are fewer and fewer out there so grab it up while you can. It's nearly winter so perfect time to buy and make it your own so you can roll in the spring. Here is what I can tell you:
It's a chevy c10 stepside LONG BED 8 foot, straight six not original, converted to automatic. Bed was just rebuilt, new fenders, good usable tires, has a CD player with detachable face and decent little speakers which work, has a working horn, lights work ( tail lights not original but work), nice warm heater that works, runs and drives, has a clean title, is currently registered and insured. The truck has been stored on pavement although not in a garage. It has at times been a daily driver and a faithful pal that starts up with out a lot of arguing. It does have a choke. If you are in a hurry and expect to jump in and go then you Will learn patience. It's not complicated but you have to give it about ten minutes when it's cold to come to temperature and then you are set. It has a temp gauge you can go by in the cab. It does not overheat even in idling traffic with in reason. You can change that if you want but that's how it is right now. It drives nicely. The wheel is awesome. It's a big truck and has no power steering so you actually have to drive it. I can't tell you how many miles are on it . Dash reads in the nineties. I don't know for sure. Speedometer does work ( sometimes) but I rely on navigation to be sure. Compared it's not quite accurate so to be on the safe side that's how we do it. Windows work fine. Great side vents for natural air conditioning.wipers work. Hood opens fine. Transmission was originally three on the tree and converted to automatic . Looks like it Is a standard but it is not. Clutch pedal is still on the floor in case you want to switch it back.
What does it need... well this is what I can tell you. selling it as is. I can't answer a bunch of In depth tech questions.I can try and get some answers but again the truck is as is.
It probably could use brakes in the soon ish future. It will need some patching on the floors. You can see images. It needs new rockers. The motor and engine area is actually pretty clean. Motor is tired and would like to retire. It does run without any major issues so you could certainly drive it for quite a bit. Seat, well put a blanket on it and it's perfect. If your bothered by springs and such you will want to get it redone. You can see the gas tank behind the seat. It doesn't leak and has been fine. I check the level by giving it a tap. Old school. Gas cap area on the outside can use some love. There is some rust throughout. Someone had done some repairs on bottoms of doors on the cab. They are mostly solid but towards the bottom some bondo I suspect may have been used. Doors and lock work fine. Seals around doors could use some love. About the rust. I don't know what to tell you. It depends on what kind of person you are. Do things yourself then these are projects you can do over time and will see the value in this truck. Have to send it out for work, well I feel your pain but don't message me with sad tales of how much that costs in relation to the truck. This truck is worthy of the love. So maybe you always wanted one and you want to recreate it. Go for it! It is on its way. I will always say the same thing. Go find another one and eventually you will not be able to. Off the frame resto ..maybe I don't know. Depends on where you are going with it. See images of exhaust setup. Works no issues but is still low for my taste and could use some rethinking. All stuff for you to decide. Frame itself is decent. As is. I try to be a thoughtful seller who is honest and would like a buyer to be the same. I don't need any tire kickers or low ballers with drama. Inquire if your serious about a sale.
This truck has a story. Be the next chapter. Sold as is where is. You are responsible for pick up and shipping. I can not help you. It's getting cold out so by chance you should face a deAd battery I have a jumper box. It has a newer battery and should be fine but when it's cold you never know with any vehicle. I am not going to be showing it beyond eBay to a Million people. Again do not ask to stop by or test drive it if you are going to waste my day. An offer of 1200.00 $ will be rejected do not bother. NO RETURNS. You are bidding on an antique vehicle that runs and drives but does need some work so we are clear.
Thank you for looking. Happy bidding! I want this truck to be matched with the right owner. I hope your the one!
